Keenan Allen or Jordan Howard

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Keenan Allen or Jordan Howard

Postby Favrezilla » Sun Jun 25, 2017 9:18 pm

Debating throwing an offer of Keenan for jordan Howard - would I have to add?

For team 2 below - am planning on taking CDavis at 1.2 so that should address losing a starting wr and still have Tate, MB and JMatt,
T.1 - 12 team Superflex- 1xQB - 2xRB - 3xWR - 1xTE - 1xSFlex (13th year) ‘21&’22 champ
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Stafford,
RB: Mixon, Henry, zeke, Rochon
WR: Godwin, Olave, Deebo,DJM, Dell, MW, Doubs
TE: Kelce, Kmet, Musgrave

T.2 - 12 team Superflex- 1xQB - 2xRB - 3xWR - 1xTE - 1xSFlex - 1xWRT Flex (10th year)
QB: Burrow, Baker,Jameis, jimmy, Wentz,
RB: Saquon, Mixon, Rochon, Evans
WR: Pickens, QJ, Thielen, Arob, Juju, ODB, D. Parker, Osborn,
TE: Kincaid, Ertz, Freirmuth, Taysom, JWoods

T.3 - 12 team Superflex- 1xQB - 2xRB - 3xWR - 1xTE - 1xSFlex - 1xWRT Flex (3rd year) ‘21&’22 champ
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Winston, Darnald
RB: JT, Javonte,Sanders, JCook, Jamaal
WR: Godwin, Waddle, ARSB, Pittman, MW, Jameson, Zay, Claypool, Toney, Terrance
TE: Hock, Fant, McBride

I think you would have to add something to Allen to get Howard. I prefer Howard, but both guys scare me at their price.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

They are pretty close in value so just add in a 3rd or something since your offering it but they are pretty close. I'd prefer Howard personally

I would take this all day as a Keenan owner, but feel it may not be enough with Keenan's injury history, and Howard coming off a great Rookie season/scarcity of quality RBs.

I would also offer Howard plus something small, and consider it fair depending on personal valuations. I would be careful about relying on Davis to replace Allen in your lineup though. With the occasional obvious exceptions, rookie WRs are rarely reliable starters.

I'm not really sure why Howard is scaring people. He had a fantastic rookie season and is in about as ideal a situation as you could ask for. Highly productive behind that line a year ago, no reason to think that changes. Zero competition for carries. They have a rookie QB who will be looking to dump off passes. The only real loss on that team was Jeffery and they've added multiple WRs to replace him. After the "big 3" you are not going to find a better, more secure option in the league.

I tried this exact thing and I added a 3rd. I did this in a league with 6 copies and offered it to all 6 owners and got laughed at value wise so there are 6 examples where it would take more than a 3rd on top of Keenan to get Howard lol.

PLUS it is a contract league where Keenan is locked down for 3 years and Howard only for 2 in all 6 situations with the ability to hold players past contracts almost impossible.

Sent an offer sending Keenan for Howard straight up, got rejected. Don't think I'd add much more than a third. hoping he starts hot and then moving him

I like both and think they should be fairly even in value. However, I'm pretty sure the Howard owner will ask you to add at least a 2nd, if not more.

thanks for the responses...i didnt think there was a world of difference between them and think Keenan may actually be a better longterm asset but i dont think his value (now) is anywhere near to Howard's...which means ill probably have to wait and see if the owner doesnt want a 1:1 swap.

Personally, I'd be willing to give up a pretty sizable piece to get a deal done. Golden Tate's stat line will be just as good as Keenan so you lose absolutely nothing at the position with plenty of depth still behind him. You get to move CJA to your bench in favor of Howard. That's at least a 5+ point per week upgrade - probably closer to 10.
