Just proposed a trade. Am I nuts or ok?

Just made an offer to the owner of the 1.04 pick.

My thought process behind the offer is I have the 1.01. The same owner has the 1.02 & 1.03. He has told me he's pretty set on loading up at WR and will draft Corey Davis & Mike Williams. If I can add the 1.04 pick, that should net me Leonard Fournette & Joe Mixon. I have depth at WR, so I made an offer. The 1.04 owner needs WR's.

That's definitely a premium for 1.04. Not outrageous though depending on how highly you rate Hill and you can certainly afford to give up the depth. Have you considered taking Davis at 1.01 and forcing the owners hand at 1.02/1.03? Maybe he'll reach for Ross and either way you still get a solid RB at that pick if you make the trade. I'd suggest doing that if you follow through. Davis is the clear number one imo and you can always trade WRs for RBs later

Without seeing the roster of the team at 1.04...I would think this would be an easy accept in their side...JMatt + even a late 18 1st is probably pretty close to 1.04. If that pick ends up being in the 1.05-1.06 range you lose big time.

try offering the 1.07 and either Hill or Matthews (but not both) and see if that's enough to get it done. I agree that you are paying too much. Plus with Howard, Ajayi, Abdullah and likely LF do you really need to overpay for Mixon?

If I took both Fournette and Mixon, I'd probably try to deal Abdullah to regain a 2018 1st rounder.

The owner of the 1.04 has Randall Cobb, Terrell Pryor, Marvin Jones and Tavon Austin.

It's definitely a premium for the pick, but others in the league are bidding for it too. I tossed Matthews in because I just don't know where I'd play him over OBJ, Thomas, Watkins, Diggs & Perriman.

If Dixon and Perkins are worth early to mid seconds than Abduallah is certainly worth a first. Also you will definitely be playing JMatt over Perriman often. I wouldn't treat a player of JMatts caliber as a throw in. He's still young, in an improving offense, and has shown consistent production as a teams No 1 WR.

I would have no problem giving up that for mixon. If I had the 4th and knew mixon would be there, I wouldn't take your offer. I am also not high on hill or matthews.

I think you have a ton of depth at wr and you can afford to make that move. Your team is fairly stacked everywhere. If you also have the 1.7 could you use that to move up? That may be more intriguing to a owner, assuming they are rebuilding with the 1.4 pick, instead of a 2018 1st which would be a later pick.

Trust me, I like Matthews a lot still. He's had 2 coaches and 4 QB's in his first 3 seasons. Now he finally has stability at QB and Jeffery on the outside to draw attention.

I won't bore folks with the specifics, but we're only in year 3 of this league. A lot of owners are still learning the value of their assets and right now there's still a big disconnect between what the forums value and what my league values.

Another team offered AJ Green for the 1.04, so I wanted to make sure I bid something that was as good as that. I also proposed offering my 4.09 pick in lieu of Matthews. We play full IDP, so there is value in 4th round picks. This way I can keep Matthews.

If the 1.02/1.03 owner takes Mixon or Fournette, I can always draft McCaffery or Cook at 1.04. He wants Davis really bad though, so I may be able to force a handshake agreement to keep away from LF and Mixon. All I have to do is draft Davis at 1.01. He won't draft Fournette & Mixon because he has a much bigger need for WR's. We can probably agree to leave each other's targets alone. If he left Williams alone, he might take Dalvin Cook anyway. He's higher on Cook than he is Mixon.
