LakeCharles wrote: Wed Jun 21, 2017 8:27 am I'm a newbie, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but you are trading what is likely 10th pick next year (if you win again) for the 14th and 15th picks this year. I know this isn't like the NFL, but an actual football team would take that trade for sure. You get two players of roughly similar quality to the one you are giving up, plus an extra year out of them.
I think that is pretty sound reasoning. However, I would just like to point out that executing this trade and the 1st happens to be the 1.10 is best case scenario for OP. Worst case scenario is he gives up a top 5 pick next year for two 2nd rounders this year. Anything could happen during the season, and these trades where i've sent a 2nd rounder from current year (plus maybe a small throw-in) for their future 1st has worked out many more times than not.

Big assumption that the 31 year old that was retired last year will be reliable.....

Lol, you're absolutely correct in saying that. However, I wouldn't be making the move solely for Lynch. I mentioned above that I actually feel confident in my RB corps heading into the year, but adding him would obviously be an upgrade IMHO. The thought of rolling out Marshawn, Lacy, and Ajayi as my RB1/2/FLEX is SAUCY.

UPDATE: I completed the trade, as I gave my 2018 1st round pick for rookie picks 2.4 and 2.5 this year.

My team is in my sig and I currently now sit on 2.4, 2.5, 2.7, 2.9, 2.10. When it all boils down, I think I recognize that I have a window that's beginning at the moment to bring home a championship, so I decided to take a plunge.

Would love any and all feedback now that my trade is complete. Thanks!

Also, I know a few people were recommending that I try and package some things together to get an established RB, and not rely on the draft. I think at this point, If I wanted to go that route, my picks are going to be very valuable on draft day, and can still attempt to do that. I have loads of depth at WR with Tate, Crabtree, Fitz being my bench/backend guys.

Right now I'm very high one Lynch, all last year the man kept in shape got healthy, now is going to the Raiders with one of the best O-lines in the league. Along with having AC-DC and Crabtree as other weapons. Lynch is built for this situation , one that L.Murray did decent in. Lynch is an Elite player a lot of people can get cheap

Amen. Exactly what I'm hoping to do. I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to land Marshawn and/or a big TE, but no matter how it's sliced, 2.4 and 2.5 will be great value IMHO.

Was about to say the same thing. I take the 2nd rounders pretty easily. (Assuming you really will finish at the top of the league).

I really appreciate the feedback, and while I mostly agree, this league's settings are misleading. Although it's a 10 team league, starting requirements are: 2QB/4WR/2RB/TE/FLEX, so it's just as deep if not more than 12 team leagues.

So to clarify and to give perspective, teams are routinely starting 5 WR's in their lineup every week. That is a whole lot of WR's for any league. Guys like Marquise Lee(IMHO) are gold to me because they are breakout potential at the prime position in this league. The most successful teams are the ones that tend to be deep at WR.

UPDATE : I'm just returning from my rookie draft and things got very interesting. Here are the results of the draft, and I'll put my selections in bold. I know I mentioned it earlier, but this league's entering it's 7th year with starting requirements of 2QB/4WR/2RB/TE/FLEX.

2017 Rookie Draft Results:

1.1- Corey Davis
1.2- Leonard Fournette
1.3- Joe Mixon
1.4- Christian McCaffrey
1.5- Dalvin Cook
1.6- Mike Williams
1.7- Deshaun Watson
1.8- John Ross
1.9- OJ Howard
1.10- Samaje Perine

2.1- Zay Jones
2.2- Patrick Mahomes
2.3- Mitch Trubisky
2.4- David Njoku
2.5- Marshawn Lynch
2.6- Kareem Hunt
2.7- Evan Engram
2.8- Deshone Kizer
2.9- Kenny Golladay
2.10- Curtis Samuel

3.1- Joe Williams
3.2- Chris Godwin
3.3- Alvin Kamara
3.4- JuJu Smith Schuster
3.5- Dont'a Foreman
3.6- Jamaal Williams
3.7- Jeremy McNichols
3.8- CJ Beathard
3.9- Carlos Henderson
3.10- Chad Williams

4.1- Marlon Mack
4.2- Donnell Pumphrey
4.3- James Conner
4.4- Josh Malone
4.5- Cooper Kupp
4.6- DeDe Westbrook
4.7- Jack Doyle
4.8- Adam Thielen
4.9- I don't recall who was taken here, I missed this pick.
4.10- Wayne Gallman

That's how things shook out. I couldn't believe it, but I ended up with THREE tight ends. I just couldn't pass up on the value of both of the big TE's in the second round when I was OTC. So, all in all I scored:

Marshawn Lynch
David Njoku
Evan Engram
Kenny Golladay
Curtis Samuel
Jeremy McNichols
Jack Doyle

Although I did take three TE's, I was ecstatic that Engram fell to me. I love both Njoku and Engram, and I never did a single mock where that happened, so it worked out well IMHO. I do feel that there were a few reaches in the first and second rounds such as Zay Jones and Samaje Perine. I really loved Perine, and was eyeing him myself, but thought he would have lasted until quite a few picks later.

In any event, this draft was a result of months of planning and trading, etc, so any and all feedback is welcome! Thanks everyone!

P.S. Updating my sig accordingly.
