This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Blockbuster Trade

Postby Mein123 » Mon Jun 19, 2017 2:27 pm

Hey everyone, first post on this site.

I just recently made a few moves during our rookie draft for team in sig, and looking to get some evaluation/comments on how I did.

Trade 1.
Give: Michael Thomas, 2018 3rd
Get: Sammy Watkins, 1.08, 2.08

Trade 2.
Give: Alshon Jeffery, Delanie Walker, 2.08, 4.01
Get: Christian McCaffery, Travis Kelce

Overall:
Give: Michael Thomas, Alshon Jeffery, Delanie Walker, 4.01, 2018 3rd.
Get: Christian McCaffery, Sammy Watkins, Travis Kelce, David Njoku (picked with the 1.08).

The league will move from a 1TE league in 2017 to 2TE in 2018, so wanted to solidify my TE spot during the draft.

Welcome! I like the first trade even though it's certainly a risk with Watkins I think he'll turn it around. Not a huge fan of the 2nd trade but I can see going either direction.

I also like the 1st trade, but I do not like the 2nd.

I am much lower on McCaffrey than most though. With that being said I am also low on Alshon.. Regardless I woulda kept what you had instead of making the 2nd move.

Whats not to like about the 2nd trade? Kelce should be the best piece in the deal since they are going to a 2TE league.

I think value wise, you won both deals. I'm just not very high on Sammy or CMC, so I'd see if I could package them and go after a stud.

I like both trades. Like that you're planning ahead to the 2TE league.

I am actually quite high on CMC, but could see going for a stud. Who would you consider to be a reasonable target for Sammy and CMC?

8 team league?? Haven't seen many of those lol would be cool to have so many studs

Anyway overall I like both trades since it's a 2Te. Just don't love you giving Alshon for cmc. Would've targeted Mixon or Freeman type over cmc but overall not bad

I'm lukewarm on the 1st (because of Watkins injury history) but am a fan of the 2nd. Looking at the trades as a whole, I think you did well. Welcome to the board!

Even in a 2 TE league Kelce isnt more valuable than Alshon to me. It closes the gap between the 2 but still would much rather have Alshon.

Plus I see CMC busting out and having a fraction of the production that everyone else does.

If Watkins pans out and is who we all thought he would be then you won them both IMO.

In an 8 team league, you need as many studs as you can get. Not sure Sammy and CMC would be enough for Zeke, Bell, DJ, OBJ, or Evans, but I'd be knocking on their doors and trying to get something done (even if you have to add a little more).
