Possible Antonio deal

Postby Honey Badgers » Sun Jun 18, 2017 5:50 pm

I have a strong team but missed the playoffs last year...thinking about offering Antonio Brown for Cooks, Martavis Bryant and 1.02.

Is this a good deal? Am I over valuing brown? Is this just a bored off-season trade?

I think that's on the cheap side for a return...any chance of taking that 1.06 and coupling it with one of your future 1sts to move into top 3 picks? Get you the RB depth needed and keep AB for that title run this year and next?

Cooks is way too much of an unknown for this type of trade. Bryant, too risky to give away a 120 catch guy in Brown. The 1.02 sure looks nice but it could blow up fast.

Way too much uncertainty to move one of dynasty's top asset.

Yeah, hold AB for a better deal if you want to move him- any deal with AB should include you getting a stud back

Eh, for me I would need another piece. I like the potential of all coming back but it's just that - potential.

You have a nice team. I assume you probably just ran into bad luck last season (unless you made roster moves in the offseason).

No roster moves... just bad luck I suppose. That is what I'm struggling with. I look at my team and think it's a championship team but missed the playoffs.

I like it alil. Martavis part pushes me away. Try and get something better added. But I will say I'm a Cooks guy. Really would be surprised if he doesn't break out big this year. NE doesn't just give 1st round picks away. They raped the saints.

Cooks is an unknown???!!!
Wow
I'm literally laughing reading this.
I wouldn't expect this type of analysis from a seasoned vet on here like you Cowboy.
Cooks is a ridiculously good athlete, young college breakout and college dominator, one of the youngest prospects to ever come into the NFL.
Has done nothing but have 2 1,000 yard seasons in his first 3 years (and would have had 880 yards his rookie year at the 10 game pace he was one).
Then your going to tell me the best NFL franchise maybe ever in terms of making the right moves at the right times and having almost all of them work, traded a 1st and 3rd round pick for Cooks this offseason and your telling me Cooks is an unknown???!!!

I'm not saying Brown isn't worth what people are suggesting here, but I think what a lot of people expect to get in return for studs is unrealistic in real leagues. It's not just in this thread, it's in most threads. If you're playing in an 8-10 team league with very shallow lineups then I could see it, but for the most part owners just aren't going to dismantle their team for a single player. Especially when that player is going to be 29. Cooks/Bryant/1.02 is a pretty big haul for any player. Those saying it isn't close are just people that would never want to sell Brown.

Well said.
I'd prefer to swap Bryant for a less risky asset but assuming Bryant stays clean this day forward, Cooks+Bryant+1.02 is a nice haul for any 1 player, especially a 29/30 year old WR who isn't 6'2"+
Smaller quick/fast receivers lose their explosiveness/speed/quickness first. It's just the way of life, that's what diminishes first.
AB doesn't have outright size to be able to outjump people or muscle them for catches. As he slows down literally, so will his fantasy numbers.
Not to mention the Big Ben retirement question mark.

I'd take the package

I'm a Brown owner; I wouldn't move him for that package. It would take an overpay.

I think if you want to move Brown at a later date, you can get a similar or better deal. It's far harder to get elite players than to sell them for pieces.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Are you referring to team in sig? You already have Cooks and AB listed on your roster. Just wanting clarity.
To answer your question, I think it's a fair deal. Cooks isn't a crazy downgrade, Bryant could be big and the 1.02 can get you RB help. I agree with the others who say our cost expectations for studs can be a little outrageous at times.
