Who is the next Antonio Brown?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Who is the next Antonio Brown?

Postby gerg4747 » Sat Jun 17, 2017 11:44 am

Looking for thoughts on who you think the next AB will be? To clarify I'm not talking somewhat obvious answers such as Evans/Cooper or anyone with their talent caliber/draft pedigree. Rather someone who had a lower draft pedigree but could be set to explode in year 3/4. If I recall correctly Brown was drafted in the 6th and didn't have a monster year till around year 4.

If you're looking strictly for someone who has poor draft pedigree, but who has HOF-potential, then this can very quickly dive off into silliness.

Stefon Diggs & Jamison Crowder will be popular nominations for this. Maybe Willie Snead. Cooper Kupp??

I just meant guys who wouldn't be an obvious choice. Trying to avoid a bunch of responses saying Evans or OBJ

Diggs, if he can stay healthy, would be my best guess. Almost for sure to rise in value if he can stay healthy. Owner in my league already values him as high as cooks though so hard to buy low.

Other guesses would be - Parker, John Brown, Tyler Lockett. My dark horse would be Marquis Lee. My even darker horse would be Paul Richardson.

Not out of nowhere, but guy that could blow away expectations would be someone like Cooks. If he is as talented as some believe, he could go for like 110 for 1300 yards and 12 TDs. If he is that good, BB will get him those numbers. If he isn't that talented after all.... He could blow up and be Danny Ammendola 2.0

Devante Parker

Has draft pedigree but many think he is a bust...heading into year 3 i predict 85-1300-10

Parker is definitely not a good comparison to AB but he can break out into a stud...Im completely biased though as i own him everywhere :D

The only way to try and guess who is the next Antonio Brown is to try and find someone who puts in the work he does. Antonio Brown never stops training... that takes a special person. Jerry Rice was the same, maybe even more so. Work ethic like that is very rare, which is why you will be hard pressed to find another.

Who is questioning Cooks' talent??

I'm personally skeptical that he will be a WR1 in the NE offense, but not due to a lack of talent on Cooks' part at all.

My guy would be Diggs. 84 catches in year 2 is ridiculous!! You can tell he works hard by his route running. You can also tell that Keenan McCardell was his WR coach in college. Very savvy guy and he has that "attitude" that AB does too!!

This year's class, I'll go with Godwin. He's getting no love but I think his ceiling is very high.

I like the Godwin call. Work ethic is there and since there is so much talent ahead of him he's getting little love.

I don't think that's referring to this year, but rather Godwin's future. It actually makes sense on paper. AB didn't get much opportunity for awhile, wasn't an early draft pick, good offense, etc.
