Theo Riddick's value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Theo Riddick's value

Postby RocketDr » Fri Jun 09, 2017 6:53 am

My league is full PPR, and 0.25 PPCarry. Theo missed 6 games last year and still scored 184 points, and finished as RB24. He was always double digits each week and averaged nearly 18 points per game when he played. Only 6 WRs averaged more PPG than he did (AB, Jordy, Evans, ODB, AJ Green, & Julio). Theo was RB14 in Ave PPG. Someone is chasing him in my league but I don't need to sell. I LOVE his consistency each week and will have a hard time not starting him. I'm also making a push to try and win this year. My league is QB, 2 RB, 2WR, TE, K/DST, 2 Flex. He doesn't have any players that I particularly care for outside of possibly Moncrief. What should I ask for in terms of '18 & '19 draft picks? Thx

Dont talk yourself into it. Walk away.

Keep your guy. Just because someone wants him doesnt mean you need to find what he is worth from that guys team.

You shouldn't be "asking" for anything until he comes to the table with an offer. It is clear you would rather keep him than move him, which means he has to come with a very convincing offer.

As an aside, that offer better have a LOT more than Moncrief (ugh).

Agree with this assessment...put the burden of offering a trade on him. While you don't need/want to trade Riddick if someone with a lousy team offers you 2 #1's (potentially top-4 selections) then you'd have to consider it.

Riddick will ALWAYS be worth more than market value IMO, people devalue him because he's not a "true lead back" but that doesn't cahnge that fact that he's one of the best at what he does and will always have a role and will always put up points.
But yeah tell him to give you an offer if he came asking.

Gotta agree with this. I'd really like to have Riddick on my roster.

I have Riddick and Landry. Their consistent reliability is nice to have

Don't move him for less than a fringe top 10 RB price. He doesn't get the respect because he doesn't fit the mold, but as you showed in ppr he puts up the numbers and that's what counts
Team 1- 10 team ppr, 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flx, 1D, 1K

He's not flashy enough to get fair return. Maybe someone will offer a late round 2.

Riddick is the classic example of a player who's worth more on your team than anything you'd get for him.

Just sit back and be patient while you wait for his offer. We still have months before the season so don't make the first move.

Agree with above, if he wants him, make him offer, have a value in mind and make him meet that, even if it's more than market value

His startup ADP is actually late 1st 2017 range (depending on your source). I'd personally be very open to moving him before the season as I think Abdullah is the one to own for DET backfield. That said, don't sell just to sell. A late 2017 2nd just isn't worth it, and a random 2018 2nd is even worse. Make dude send an offer, tell him Moncrief needs to be on table. If resulting offer isn't up to par for you, look elsewhere. I think you'll almost always have to add more to get Moncrief with a less than flashy Riddick, but if the price is an additional random 3rd, I'm in*

*sorry Skip, I'm on board with the "Moncrief is overvalued" viewpoint for the most part, but will jump ship if the price is as listed above

Man I can't believe people think he is worth anything more than any random first in 2018. Someone mentioned 2 firsts!! No way. Nobody wins championships with Theo Riddick. He is a nice bye week filler but that is all. I agree that Abdullah is the guy to own here.
