Samuel or Thielen?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Samuel for your team. You look to be rebuilding right now.

Thielen is the safer bet for production but you're in the middle of a rebuild it looks like, so I would prefer the theoretical ceiling of Samuel.

This is pretty much my reasoning. Thielen could continue to be solid, but I'm not sold that he ever becomes much more than the type of WR that you can find off the WW every year, and I don't have confidence that he'll sustain a high enough level of production for long enough to really carry much value.

Samuel could end up like Tavon (or worse), but the daft pedigree combined with the theoretical ceiling gives you much more to gain value on the your investment. Plus if he hits, he's Percy Harvin at his peak. Chances are he never gets there, but that's difference making production. I just don't think Thielen will ever give you that upside.

I think Thielen is for real and would not be surprised if he comes close to a Jordy Nelson like career .. good choice.

PS. Also any talk of Treadwell, et al.. its a fight for the outside position opposite Thielen ... Diggs will be in the Slot.

I'd take the chance on Samuel. Well I guess I already did since I drafted him. I think his upside is intriguing. Funchess and Benjamin will live on the outside. No Ginn or Brown this year in the slot so I guess the question is will he get is hands on those targets that left the team? If he can develop his routes I wouldn't be surprised if he has a decent rookie season. Also if John Ross wasn't in this draft we would all be talking about how fast Samuels 40 time was at the combine.

That's a hot take right there Plank! Thielen do look good last season though and he would be the "safer" choice between himself and Samuel.
