Rebuild seeds are hown

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rebuild seeds are hown

Postby captain howdy » Fri May 26, 2017 7:23 am

Making a new thread to thank the other participants, and because the update was getting missed in the middle of the other thread.

OK I have completed my rebuild..that is to say, I am fully tilled and planted and now just need time and water to let my team grow. :D I do have patience, I think, to see this through. My Goal is to be a contender in 2019.

The market was nonexistent for ajg (as he enters his age 29 season), and kind of soft for Reed (concussions) but I got each of them moved for talented youth, imo. I personally think I got less than market value, but I do like my return pieces, and have no doubt my side of the trade will continue to gain value over his side, especially in 2019. I guess these are the hard moves we sometimes must make. Thanks to the people who convinced me to cut bait and fully invest in a rebuild.

All told my roster was moved from this:

Qb: Glennon, Goff, Watson (R)
Rb: CJA, Ware, J. Charles, C. Thompson, Forte, Charcandrick, A. Jones (R), Cohen (R)
Wr: AJG, Arob, Landry, Perriman, Doctson, Juju (R), DGB, J. Taylor, S. Coates
TE: Reed, Ebron, Fiedorowicz, G. Everett (R), J. Smith (R)

2018 1,2,3,3

TO this:

Qb: Mariota, Goff, Watson (R)
Rb: Ware, A. Jones (R), T. Cohen (R), TJ Logan (R), E. Hood (R), E. McGuire (R)
Wr: Arob, Landry, J. Matthews, B. Perriman, W. Fuller, S. Sheperd, Marv. J. Doctson, Juju (R), D. Funchess, Switzer (R), S. Coates, DGB
TE: Ebron, Fiedorowicz, G. Everett (R), J. Smith (R)

2018 --1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3

I am loaded at WR, and think I could have some decent weeks as the best ball will likely just pull my top 5 wrs each week (possible I guess, I have a TE Flex if both Ebron and CJF have strong weeks). Undoubtedly I will be left hurting at RB2 each week (and my rb1 is more like a weak rb2)

Arob - 24 this year
Landry - 24
Matthews - 25
Perriman - 24
Fuller - 23
Sheperd - 24
Doctson - 24
Marvin Jones - 27
Juju - 20
Switzer - 22

So, they should age well enough as a group. I also think I have a fairly well solidified rebuild plan. I know RB is the hardest position to get good guys at, but I think I am set at QB, WR, and TE (at least, I have my prospects there, I could add one I guess)...so all my resources in 2018 and 2019 can be dedicated at RB, which sorely needs it.

Interested to see what trades you make. You traded away Green and Reed which were both top 5 players for your team and got Mariota and JMatt(only super notable players) and didn't gain any future 1st?

I think the future looks bright. I'd still look to move Ware, but everyone else is a nice piece to have as you're growing.

4 trades
I traded Reed and Glennon for Mariota, Marvin Jones, 2018 2nd and 3rd

I traded AJG, CJA, and Charles for Jordan Matthews, Will Fuller, Sterling Sheperd, and a 2018 3rd

I traded Matt Forte and Chris Thompson for Devin Funchess

I traded Marvin Jones for a 2018 2nd.
(this last trade was completed after I posted this thread)

I had a soft market, and didnt want to stubbornly hold when I COULD get players I liked in return. I dont deny the value wasnt top notch, just that I like the players I got back, and like where Im sitting for 2019 better.

I tried to move Ware and Jordan Matthews for Jordan Howard, but it was rejected without comment or counter. To me, I think Ware is a guy to hold since I think he's better than Hunt. Im weird like that...

I think you sold way too light if that deal had just been for AJ Green, seeing the CJA+ added in there broke my soul a little.

I had zero offers for cja

Other best offers fkr ajg were ajg and 2.3 for 1.4 and edleman (useless in a rebuild)

Or ingram for ajg straight up. On trade bait for months

You understand..ajg was worthless on my team. I was winning nothing with him.

He wasn't worthless! You should've held until in season his value would've been higher.

I got the best deal possible for ajg. 10 other owners knew the drill and the interest was paltry. Dynasty has nooffseason...why you think ajg will be worth more after his 29th bday in season is not, i think, well stated. Better than dying on my squad as i mire in the throws of mediocrity

The best deal possible now! He will be worth more in season when he's putting up the same numbers as AB. AB is 28/29 Julio is 28/29 AJG is same age and just as elite. Just voicing my opinion that I believe you way undersold and should've waited until In season

Youre right. Not worthless. Maybe i finish 6th with him instead of 8th without....

People keep saying his value would magically increase tenfold in season...wht evidence is there that this would happen? Hard evidence, please, something compelling.

The ten other owners, presuming your notion is true, ahould have swept in offers to rake in this magic upswing themselves!. In a highly publicized manner he was on trade bait..in our very active league, and i got 3 "serious" inquiries.

I wonder if people are simply assuming their selling peice is what the market buy price is..

I appreciate the thoughts tho

Is he? Im not sure the market has shown that in almost 2 years.

I own ab and julio as well as ajg. Its been a long while since id preferred ajg to one of them
