2 QB league question

Postby Rams Fan » Thu May 25, 2017 8:00 pm

I like my current QB's but have a guy interested in Ryan. He has also expressed interest in Pryor but is stacked at the WR positions (Evans, Hopkins, ARob, M Thomas, Snead) and outside of Gurley doesn't really have any RB's.

I have THREE questions

1) I'm wondering what the community thinks the difference is between Ryan and Bortles

2) What he should add to Bortles if I was to make a deal?

3) Am i crazy to send out an offer of: Matt Ryan + Pryor + 2018 1st for Bortles and M Thomas (NO)

As always thanks for the help

I don't think you are crazy, I think it's a fair deal both ways

I think the gap between Ryan and Bortles is pretty wide. I am down on Bortles though. Looked so bad last year. I personally would not do the trade.

I agree Bortles looked terrible last year, but from what I hear his motion has improved drastically. The addition of LF will also help keep the pressure off Bortles. Think he takes a step forward this year. I also think that Ryan has a regression from last years MVP campaign

This is how I fee too, if I owned bottles I'd be terrified going into this year, realistically if he plays like he did last year he'll be out of a starting job faster than rg3 can get hurt.

To me you lose on this deal. Jax is going to be a run first team, lower scoring team this year under Coughlin's leadership from above. They drafted Fournette and made more additions to their defense. I see Bortles numbers dropping with them trying to control the clock more. If you weren't adding a first in a 2 qb league it wouldn't be as bad, but losing out on the qb and giving up a first is too much.

You think i offer a 2nd instead of the 1st or stay put and forget about Bortles?

I agree with not giving the 1st, too. Try sending an offer without any picks first and then add a 2nd if needed.

In a 2QB league, this is not even close. I guarantee you that if you trade Ryan and Bortles is the best QB you get in return, doesn't matter how good your WRs are, you're going to struggle. Theres almost no wat Bortles, Dalton, and Hoyer get it done.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Does he have a different QB he'd be willing to swap? That's a massive jump down from Ryan to Bortles.

I don't like going from Ryan to Bortles in 2 QB league. But if you decide to make the offer, Ryan + Pryor is enough for Bortles + Thomas.

X2 on all this. But also to be honest I would rather have a starting line up with Ryan and Pryor than Bortles and Thomas in a 2QB league

Job security is a pretty big factor in 2QB 12 teamers. I dont think this is a good deal for you. Ryan is probably worth at least Bort and Thomas alone
