John Brown value in rookie pick

Postby AndrewS » Thu May 25, 2017 10:30 am

For team 2 in sig i have been offered a few trades. Just wanting to see what the forum believes is the correct valuation for John Brown. With his disease under control i have high hopes for him over the next few years, as i'm sure others do as well. What should i be looking for in rookie picks to move him? Is a mid-2nd enough? Should i be looking for more/less? Thanks for your help!

I think an early second is where I would put his value, but mid 2nd isn't that far off. You might be better off holding and waiting till he has some good games if you're looking to move him.

Exactly what I was thinking. Could not agree more.

Based on the ADP data, he is coming off between rookie picks 13 & 14.

I like him so I was thinking for me would likely take a late 1st (unlikley to get) or at worst an early 2nd.
My PPR dynasties (QB/RB/WR/TE/FL):

Under construction...just noticed teams I had shown were very different than where they are now (lots of trading last 12 months). LOL

I think there are several issues at play right now. One- he has been inconsistent in the past. Two- medically, he seems fine, but could it linger. 3- QB- what if Palmer retires at seasons end? Admit add live never been high on him, but I wouldn't go much more than a early to mid second for him.

I'd put his value at a mid-late 2nd right now. Too many questions with him to go much higher especially with this draft class.

I have the 2.04 and the 2,08 in round 2 this year and have him as a trade target when OTC. My hopes is to get him for the 2.08 and future 3rd. Would pay the 2.04 depending who is there (would rather have Juju or Zay should either drop).

Would rather have Zay and Juju over him and possibly Samuel. That puts him around pick 18 in a standard PPR league, so in a 12-teamer that would be a mid-2nd

Edit: Probably lower than a mid-2nd actually, given that players fall. I would give around pick 20-22 for him

Early second is his current value IMO. I personally wouldn't sell for that right now. Remember John Brown when he was healthy. Guy has the tools to be a stud. I'm holding unless someone offers a first.
