OBJ Offer

Postby Golly Dagger » Wed May 24, 2017 10:14 pm

Team 2: Was offered OBJ for Cooks/Corey Coleman/Kamara and a first.

Would I be overpaying? I'd be so thin in terms of depth, but I'm already thin and this trade offer is pretty tempting.

Thanks in advance!

I can see not wanting to pay that, but I don't think that's enough for OBJ.

If that was offered to you I think I would take it... Im not a fan for Cooks in NE, he isnt even the primary target there and they spread the ball around to much... BUT think I would try to counter and remove the 1st

Seems like a lot, but I am not as high on OBJ as some. Then again I am a little more down as well on Cooks in NE... Lol ok so that was no help.

To start... I definitely agree with you that the thinness of roster would bug me after the trade based on your team construction... So with that said... I would ask the question if there was wiggle room from the guy making the offer? Because if you were able to drop off that future first from the deal, I would likely pull the trigger.

Still I am conflicted... & when that happens I go to the drawing board and break it down individually as separate pieces... So I see it as follows... What would I give/request for the following players... B Cooks = Multiple firsts (2ish), Coleman is equal to at least a first (1ish), Kamara is either a late first or early/mid second (depending on league) (1ish) & 2018 1st (1)... So question is... is OBJ worth 5 theoretical first round picks? IMO no personally that is too rich for my blood, but if you could drop it down slightly to maybe 4 firsts or 3 firsts and a 2nd ... again a theoretical debate but then closer to yes. & Sorry for the ramble its late.

(Note: I know it is flawed/not perfect logic... but please forgive me my rough mental math)

Haha no apologies necessary. I appreciate the lengthy response. It gives some nice insight and a different perspective.
In response, there may be some wiggle room here. Based off some previous responses, perhaps I'll try to drop the first and include a second, but I doubt he goes for it and I have little else to offer in terms of players.

Thanks again for that response, more insight the better.

I think Cooks is overrated more than even now and I never liked Corey Coleman.

I'd gladly pay that for OBJ

I'd take OBJ, but seems like reasonable value. However, I would counter and try to turn the first into either one or two 2nds.

Exactly this.

Cooks going to NE does nothing to excite me about him more than his time in NO. So I would gladly give him up, as well as Coleman and Kamara. I would only want to try and retain the first, but even then, I don't see anything egregiously wrong with the original offer.

Depth can get you by but studs win championships so I'd make the deal. I'd try my best to drop the 1st/ or replace with other picks
My PPR dynasties (QB/RB/WR/TE/FL):

Under construction...just noticed teams I had shown were very different than where they are now (lots of trading last 12 months). LOL

If that's what it took to get OBJ then I'd pay it. Not high on either Cooks or Coleman, so for me it would be pretty easy to make that deal.

I'd take OBJ regardless of roster situation. He's the best piece in this deal and is a top 2 dynasty asset
