1st Round in the books for new startup

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1st Round in the books for new startup

Postby Dizzle » Mon May 22, 2017 12:05 pm

Had the 1st overall pick. Took Evans. I've never had him in any leagues. So I wanted him. Here's how the first round has fared so far. This is a snake draft. So I get to wait a bit for my back to back picks.
12 team 32 roster spots 1 pt PPR

1.01 Evans, ME
1.02 DJ
1.03 ODB
1.04 Zeke
1.05 Amari
1.06 AB
1.07 Bell
1.08 Freeman
1.09 Julio
1.10 Jordan Howard
1.11 AJG
1.12 Nuk

Am I crazy for wanting Luck/Rogers with my 2nd or 3rd pick knowing there will be some great players left? Or do I wait until later rounds to snag a QB? SO MANY fun ways to go in a start up. Like a kid in a candy store we all are.

Not a fan of snake drafts in a start up for what its worth. I've always loved an auction for a startup. Everyone has a shot at getting anyone.

In a 1 QB league, the value gained from having an elite QB over a differant QB1 is more than offset by the value lost from passing on a stud skill position player. Google value based drafting for a detailed explanation.

Maybe take Luck with your 3rd pick if you must, but I wouldn't do it. You can still get really good value later on in the draft.

In a 1 QB I would wait until round 5 maybe even 6
