Rodgers vs Carr

Postby wolves1 » Mon May 22, 2017 11:43 am

12 team PPR QB, 2-4RB, 2-4WR, 1-3TE, D
Going SuperFlex in 2018
QB: Rodgers, Goff, Trubisky
RB: Booker, Coleman, Foreman, Gallman, McKinnon, Sims, West, Jon Williams
WR: Anderson, Austin, Cooks, P Cooper, Crowder, Marvin Jones, Pryor, Samuel, S Shepherd, Stills, Strong, Treadwell, Wheaton
TE: Ertz, Ebron

Ok, so I'm mid rebuild in this league and just dealt away some older performers to get a bit younger. I've still got Rodgers and some teams have inquired about dealing for him. I was originally hesitant as I think his value shoots up with the move to SuperFlex in 2018. That said, I've had some solid talks with another owner about a deal. A few options that came my way:

Give Rodgers, Get Stafford, 2018 1st (likely mid), 3 2018 3rds
Give Rodgers, my 2018 2nd, Get Carr, 2018 1st (likely mid), 3 2018 3rds
Give Rodgers, Get Dak, 2018 1st (likely late), 3 2018 3rds

I've declined all. I'm not a huge believer in Dak for Fantasy, and I wasn't ready to drop to Stafford. I thought about the Carr option, but decided that my 2nd may be too high to make the move.

Anyway, thoughts on value difference between Rodgers and a nice young QB like Carr. 2 things to factor in: superflex in 2018, the team I would be dealing with would have to be considered a top 3 contender with Rodgers added for the 2017 season as well.

Thanks

i dont like any wiht the SF move, but ARod might not play more than 2 years after 2018.... but id probably take the Carr one if i was forced

i currently am fielding offers for my Team 1 ARod, and not getting anything NEAR to what id want, think once it gest closer to the season the offers will come back up

Out of the 3 options the Carr deal would be the best offer but I don't think it is enough for Rodgers with the SF change coming up. Taking your 2nd out of it would help. I really like Carr and the potential he has going forward so if you were going to deal Rodgers he would have to be in the group with Winston/Marriota as targets to get in return. I would go back to the owner of Carr and see if willing to negotiate on the 2nd or the picks you are getting back to find something that will work.

The Carr offer isn't bad. Can you counter with taking your 2nd out of the deal?

I had sent over

Rodgers for Carr, 2018 1st, 2 2018 3rds
also
Rodgers, 2018 3rd (likely high) for Carr, 2018 1st, 2018 2nd (likely late)

He didn't like either one.

Try AROD for Carr and the 18 first. I value Carr as high as any qb in a rebuild

If you could get this deal worked out that would be good return value for Rodgers.

I'm the guy who has Carr, so feel free to mediate a deal between the two of us! :-)

I think the middle deal is the closest and I think if you guys ditch the 2nd from one side and one of the 3rds on the other it should be close enough to make you both happy.

So it would be rodgers for carr, 1st and 2 3rds

1) I like the Carr offer best.
2) I don't think that it's enough for Rodgers.
3) I'm doubtful that you'll get a better offer -- or an offer so much better that it's worth passing up the proverbial bird-in-hand.

If I'm mediating (LOL), I'd have the 2nd-round pick removed and something removed on the other side and make it a done deal. Great play for both teams, IMO.

Carr plus a first for Rodgers is a great win win trade for a competing team and rebuilding team. both teams win., need to over complicate an easy tradethat helps both parties. do not be a bunch of penny pinching fools trying to get third round picks...

We never struck a deal last year....but options are back on the table...

12 team PPR 1-2QB, 2-4RB, 2-4WR, 1-3TE, D
Going SuperFlex in 2018

QB: Rodgers, Goff, Trubisky
RB: Booker, Coleman, Foreman, Gallman, A Jones, McKinnon, Perkins, Sims, West
WR: Anderson, Austin, Cooks, Crowder, Marvin Jones, Perriman, Pryor, Samuel, S Shepherd, Stills, Treadwell
TE: Ertz, Ebron, Butt
Picks: 1.7, 2.7, 3.4, 3.7, 4.7

Have been offered Carr and 1.11 for Rodgers. Other owner also has the 1.5.

Thoughts? Thanks!
