Trying to get Alshon Jeffrey or Keenan Allen

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trying to get Alshon Jeffrey or Keenan Allen

Postby PRESS50 » Mon May 22, 2017 7:03 am

Im am entertaining the idea of making an offer for Alshon or K Allen. The owner has both and also has Evans Cooper Adams Parker and Corey Davis but is extremely weak at RB. I am looking for another WR which one would you go after and what would be a solid offer from my roster I have a plethora of rbs now and I'm looking to get another mid tier wr only thing is both these wrs are always injured and miss a ton of games. Thx

The first thing is, they are not mid tier guys, Jeffrey and Allen when healthy are both still top tier WR.

On your team, the only ones that would interest me in a deal for one of them is Freeman and Cook. Maybe try and package Hunt and something else since his value seems to be rising.

I don't think Alshon is always injured.
I would also argue that your RBs are well behind your WRs. Diggs/Meredith should be solid WR4s. While you do seem to have a plethora, after Freeman, I don't see anything concrete at RB. Lots of question marks around Hyde and Martin. I'd look to attach that position before upgrading your WR4.

There is rumblings that Shanahan doesn't want Hyde, and that Joe Williams may take over. Also, given his injury history, he is far from a guarantee.

Either way, Hyde isn't going to get you Jeffrey or Allen. You can try to start with Hyde and another piece to get talks going, but if I owned Jeffrey or Allen, I personally wouldn't want Hyde.

I also agree you need RB help more than WR.

Yes, Cook was great in college but he's in the NFL now in a debatable role. I wouldn't ever count on rookies to meet your expectations as a RB1.

I wouldn't want to move any of your RBs for another WR in my opinion.

But to go with your question, I would see if Hyde+ will net you Alshon or Allen. But both of those WRs are strong.

Maybe try giving up Diggs or Meredith + Hunt for Allen or Alshon. But honestly, I would try to give up Meredith and Diggs for a young RB stud if possible to pair with Freeman. Someone who can and is producing now.

Also, you probably have a collective 3 yr shelf life of elite production at WR, so keep that in mind. Your WRs overmatch your RBs big time.
WR are win now, RBs are not as much. Maybe try to even those out so they can all be firing on all cylinders at the same time.

I agree, unless Freeman or Cook are involved, I doubt you get either. I have them pretty close in value, but Keenan is a couple of years younger, so I might prefer him slightly.
