1.11/DMart for 1.07

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.11/DMart for 1.07

Postby harveyd » Sat May 20, 2017 4:15 pm

Give:
2017 1.11
Doug Martin

Get:
2017 1.07

I have this offer on the table - is doug martin fair value to move up 4 spots? The kicker is that this is a tiered PPR league (0.5 RB, 1.0 WR, 1.5 TE) so I'd love to move up to 1.07 and grab one of Howard or MWilliams (or maybe even Engram/Njoku). I'm afraid that if I wait until 1.11, with the TE premium and all, I'd be looking at Juju or one of Perrine/Kamara/Hunt who are all much less appealing than the aforementioned guys. I'm leaning on pulling the trigger but wanted to bounce my thoughts around. Team details below. Thanks y'all.

12 teams, tiered PPR (0.5 RB/1.0 WR/1.5 TE), Start 1QB/2RB/3WR/FLEX/TE
D. Brees, M. Ryan
M. Gordon, J. Ajayi, D. Murray, D. Martin, F. Gore, J. Stewart, R. Burkhead
D. Bryant, TY Hilton, A. Jeffrey, B. Marshall, E. Sanders, C. Meredith, B. Perriman, M. Wallace, E. Decker
D. Walker, CJ Fiedorowicz, A. Gates, Z. Miller

News out of Tampa is that they are very pleased with Doug Martin and his progress, I get sacrificing a RB for a better draft position, I've done it many times myself, but I'd want higher than the 1.07 for that kind of sacrifice..

I own Martin. Tried to trade him last off season, couldn't give him away - not even as a throw in. I'd still try to get more. Maybe a 2 or swap 2nds.

Martin' value is trash at the moment and I don't understand it.

Martin's value is low now and one could argue it may not go much higher. He's suspended the 1st 3 games, giving any challengers more than a good shot to unseat him or minimally steal half the carries going forward. Honestly, he's always been so uneven in his production that he's never been valued as an elite RB. I'd be selling all day if I could get anywhere near low end RB2 value for Martin.

What if someone shines in camp & those 1st 3 games? It's not totally unlikely that he's gone after this year.

In your situation I would hold. One of the three Too TEs might fall to you and you don't have a lot of depth at Rb

Thanks guys, I'm gonna counter to add some more value on the 1.07 side

joshuawrobbins - Not trying to argue with you but i'm curious why you think I lack RB depth? I actually thought I was a little too heavy there since with the tiered PPR I'd hardly ever start an RB in the flex spot and Doug is my RB4 at the moment

Try to get more value ibut I'd take that in a heart beat. Martins value has been trash for 3 years now. Even during last season I couldn't move him for a first. To go from 1.11 to 1.7 it probably takes a late 1 or 2018 1 so this is easy accept for me to move up those 4 spots and either get one of the stud TEs or hope one of the stud RBs slips either way you are much better set up then sitting at 11.

I'd want more than just 1.07. DMart is a RB2 next year once he returns imo.

I think you have solid RB depth so I would try to move him. I just traded him this week for a 2018 2nd (likely a top 15 pick) but he's always had eyes for Martin and was desperate at RB. I am really afraid that backfield will be a RBBC when he gets back. Having said that, I do think you should get more back for him on the trade offered to you. Maybe kick in your 3rd and have him add his 2nd...?

I'm undecided. Can go either way. If it was 1.06, I'd take it pretty easily.

I'd do it if you can get Howard at 7 in your format with your roster and starting requirements.

I would hold. I think you'll get a top 3 TE at 1.11. And worst case, happily draft the Skins or Saints rookie RB since you have a few RBs that are so old they fart dust (Murray, Gore, Stewart)

Can you help with mine? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=141352
