The Chopping Block

Postby apbohannon » Wed May 10, 2017 9:21 am

For team listed in sig, I need to make some roster cuts to make room for rookie picks. Just trying to get a consensus on who to drop, who to trade (at least try), and who still has some potential/value to hold onto. I need to cut 4 to make room for current picks, 5-6 names to be sure I know what to do if I add some picks during the draft.

This is the list of players I would cut, and in this order

1. Terrance Williams
2. Vance McDonald
3. Teddy Bridgewater
4. Jeremy Langford
5. Jimmy Garoppolo
6. Anquan Boldin

Interested to see what other cut lists would be, and if any other guys left off this list don;t have as much value as some of the guys on it.
Team 1:
12 Teams, PPR
QB - J. Garoppolo, J. Goff, P. Mahomes
RB - Tevin Coleman, Rashaad Penny, CJ Prosise, Mike Gillislee, Derrius Guice, Tarik Cohen, Joe Mixon
WR - C. Davis , J.Doctson, Ty. Williams, T. Lockett, M. Mitchell, M. Gallup
TE - A. Hooper, OJ Howard, D. Njoku

Team 2:
12 Teams, PPR, SF
QB - A. Rodgers, A. Luck, M. Mariota, K. Lauletta
RB - K. Hunt, A. Kamara, K. Dixon, J. Adams, M. Breida, CJ Prosise, B. Scarbrough
WR - M. Evans, D. Hopkins, A. Robinson, C. Godwin, K. Golladay, M. Valdes-Scantling, J. Ross, A. Darboh, A. Lazard, I. Zamora, L. Carroo
TE - E. Engram, OJ Howard
DT - S. Day, D. Hand, D. Irving, M. Jackson, S. Williams
DE - V. Curry, K. Ealy, J. Jenkins, R. Quinn, J. Sheard, D. Walker
LB - D. Bucannon, P. Smith, D. Trevathan, S. Griffin, R. Ragland, J. Bynes, B. Hager, K. Ishmael, M. Jefferson, M. Judon, B. Marshall, C. Matthews, W. Mercilus, P. Onwuasor

Not sure I would want to cut Teddy B or Langford if I could avoid it. The others I have no issue with although some would advise keeping Jimmy G too I guess.

I'd dump P Cooper before I dumped Jimmy G but the rest of the names are relatively easy cuts. Shallowish rosters, I wouldn't worry too much about losing those guys.

The way your team is built.. I would keep Jimmy G and cut everyone else on the list and also look at getting rid of Mathews if need be.

Reason for keeping Jimmy G is because your team is a LONG ways away from competing so he should have a starting gig somewhere by then and put up at least the numbers flacco is.

That was my initial thought on Garoppolo. And I think I should be competing in 2 -3 years, so I agree. Too many middle of the road QB's.

The list looks right to me. Don't think the order matters.

Bridgewater should be at the top of your cut list. I think I'd rather keep McDonald over Boldin.

If this is a 1QB league then I would say you are ok dropping all 6 of them. Should be better QB options out there for you depending on league size. Also agree that I would add P. Cooper to the drop list if needed to. Now if is a 2QB league then you would need to hold on to Jimmy G and consider holding Bridgewater.
