CJA for 1.05

CJA for 1.05

Postby TTHTD » Sat Apr 29, 2017 2:12 pm

I'm wrestling with this trade offer...

Denver sold Bibbs, drafted a top run blocker, and hasn't moved in any RB competition and my team is in win-now mode. Booker showed he's is JAG when given his shot. 1.05 isn't exactly inspiring after seeing landing spots, I could end up choosing between Cook and Williams which is not appealing to me at all given my team makeup.

Team 2 in my sig w/no 2017 picks at all, which side do you take if this is your team?
Team 1
12 Team 1 PPR 1QB/2 RB/2 WR/2 FLEX/1TE
QB: Herbert, Burrow
RB: Zeke, Fournette, Dobbins, Cook, Gaskins, Gainwell, Herbert, Ingram, Pacheco, T.Jones, Phillips
WR: Chase, Lamb, Hopkins, Evans, Jeudy, Toney, DBell, Woods, WRobinson, Reagor, Mims, Campbell
TE: Kelce, Jarwin, Trautman, Shultz, Gray, Granson

2023: 1, 2, 3, 4

Team 2
12 Team PPR SF TE Premium QB/ 2RB/ 2WR/ TE/ SuperFlex / 2 Flex
QB: Allen, Herbert, Jackson, Ridder
RB: Barkley, Jacobs, Fournette, Dobbins, Aaron Jones, Dillon, RoJo, McKissic, Gus Edwards, Gainwell, Wilson, Eno, Breida, Badie, ASmith
WR: Jefferson, Lamb, Sutton, Hollywood Brown, CWatson, Pierce, Toney, J.Myers
TE: L.Thomas, Henry, J.Woods, RSJ, OJ Howard, Tremble

I would take the 1.05 ALL day. Don't dismiss Booker so easily. I remember alot of JAG references about Le'veon Bell after his rookie year as well. I completely think CJA will be the leader out of the gate - but would not discount Booker taking a large chunk or even taking over during the season.

Trading Bibbs is just as much about their faith in Booker as it is CJA. Take the 1.05 here.

1.05, easy. I'm shocked anyone has voted for CJA to this point...

I just don't see it. Booker always profiled as a complimentary guy from all the scouting reports I read and somehow got hyped up as a 3-down lead back type because John Elway said he liked him 2nd to Zeke one time at a press conference and he's been riding that hype ever since... Dude is a late 4th round guy who's shown nothing except when he was the compliment to CJA. UDFA Bibbs showed him up everytime they were on the field together. CJA is the guy there, 70/30 split or somewhere therabouts seems likely.

If it were me, I would probably pass but it's close. I think it just comes down to personal preference, it's that close, I don't think Booker will carve out a huge role anytime soon. The thing with Anderson, like Carlos Hyde and some others, he's pretty productive when he's healthy, he just has to stay healthy.

Is it really that shocking? CJA is in RB1 territory for 2017 and 1.05-1.08 is a dart throw. Statistically about 70% of the guys between 1.05 and 1.08 will bust. Who is available at 1.05 that is head and shoulders better to have on my team than CJA? Cook is in an RB graveyard, Williams could end up buried and labeled a bust early, the only guy I could see an argument for might be Howard but I'm not buying the instant contributor story line. He'll be much cheaper next year.

Pffffttftftfttttt - who the hell referenced Bell as just another guy after he put up 1300yds with 45 receptions as a rookie (in 13 games)? Who's that? That's right no one. Lol.

I might like CJA here unless you're sure about Mixon or MWilliams. But 1.5 is worth more than most would pay so the value is there from that standpoint - and I agree with you that (as a CJ owner) it appears they made some nice moves thqt benefit him.

1.05 will land you a better guy than CJ. Gurley and Howard(throw in a little more), McCoy, ajayi, D. Henry are just some of the guys I'd rather predicate a deal around for the 1.5 than CJ. I would search for some different offers.

For sure I would rather have Mixon > CJA but I am relatively positive that won't be happening. Top 4 in my league will likely be LF, Davis, CMC, Mixon and probably in that order.

Close offer, table the offer and maybe revisit during draft.

This is closer than people are making it out to be. But what should we expect, it's rookie fever season. I'd still likely take 1.05 too since CJA is nothing more than a high-end RB2. The appeal of landing Mixon or Caff at 1.05 is very tempting.

To the OP, I initially responded that I would pass but it was close but this is even better advice, this way you could see if somehow Mixon or McCaffrey is available.

Surprised at some of these responses. Give me the 1.05 very easily. And did someone compare CJA to Bell? I just browsed through this and didn't read it all.
