Mixon and Others

Postby CM21VE » Fri Apr 28, 2017 6:08 pm

How does everyone feel about where Mixon landed? Does this still mean he is still way behind Fournette and McCaffery? Gio and Hill are probably done there, Hill on his last yr of Rookie contract and Gio's contract can be basically nullified after this season.

Which of the 3 have more clout in PPR formats? I know in standard it's Fournette by a long shot...

I really hate where Dalvin went...

Mixon spot was as expected. Still in the mix as a top 3 pick.

Cook falls terribly.

Davis is 1.01. Mixon mccaffrey fournette is a preference 2-4.

Bengals is a great spot. Aj green tyler eifert John Ross stretching field with a capable qb.

Love where mixon landed. I have the 1.01 and will either trade it to move down a few spots to pick up a good player.

If I stay I'm leaning Davis since I think Mariota is a Superstar but F ournette is right there

I think McCaffery took a hit today and I'd still draft Cook and Mixon ahead of him.

McCaffrey wasn't going to be a 25 touch workhorse. My only concern is if the offense is diverse enough to optimize his talents but it should still support 15-20 touches. Another playmaker might give McCaffrey even more mismatches.

McCaffrey's spot is solid. He's going to lineup in the slot on that team often.

I could see 60+ receptions in year one and 1000 total yards. JStew will get injured for a few games, inevitable.

Cook's spot seems poor because it's a timeshare situation. However, Vikings traded up for him, they want to run the ball and have a solid o-line. The fact that he fell as hard as he did, that's what would concern me most.

In a standard PPR 12 team league, my order would be: Davis, Fournette, McCaffrey, Cook, Mixon, Williams.

Mixon is on a team with dumbo #1 Pacman Jones and dumbo #2 Vontaze Burfict. His prior misdemeanours make him vulnerable to a lengthy suspension. Enough risk there for me to slightly favour Cook. Williams enters a situation with so many mouths to feed.

Edit: word choice

Cooks spot doesn't bother me at all outside of poor O-Line play. Not sure why poster above thinks the Vikes have a "Solid" O-Line. And people are worried about Latavius Murray stealing touches. bahahahahaha. Come on really?

McCaffrey took a hit? How? They are literally going to run their offense through him.

I'm more concerned about Cincy's offensive line than I am Jones or Burfict being a bad influence on Mixon. Still, if Green, Ross & Eifert can keep extra defenders away from the box, Mixon's versatility will serve him just fine. I'm not worried about his character anymore than I am with anyone else in the NFL.

Would've been more worried about Fournette in Cincinnati than Mixon. He offers plenty as a receiving option to still have value behind an offensive line that lost a couple guys.

I like Mixon going to the Bengals because of all the weapons that the Bengals have in AJG, Eifert, Boyd, plus Hill hasn't been great, Gio is fine in his role but will be out for awhile from the knee injury so Mixon has a good chance to carve out a nice role pretty early, imo. The main drawback by going to Cincy and I know it's been mentioned, they do have several knuckleheads but ultimately it's up to Mixon to stay straight.
McCaffrey going to Carolina is fine to me, I think they will find ways to get him the ball, one way or another.
I still don't really like Cook going to the Vikings. I don't remember how much the Vikes gave Lat Murray and it's not that I think he's especially talented but I don't think that they will just hand over the keys to Cook right off the bat. Now, of course this is dynasty so maybe in two or three seasons, Cook could be ahead of some of the others but I think he's got Moreno hurdles to overcome than some of the others, time will tell.

Honestly his is the best out of them but still a WR on a run first team , I think he will be real good but tbh not as good if he want to somewhere like Balt. or ARZ.

Just think about it Tenn. #1 WR had 65-945 on 108 targets , Yes Davis is a lot better but how many targets do you see him getting there ?

Davis is also a WR. It's much easier for a RB to translate to the NFL than WRs. I think team need should dictate where Davis is taken. Just look at the WRs from last year. Treadwell was supposed to be ready to go day 1. Davis has been injured and didn't do any drills, so all there is to see is tape. I get that the situation is great, but there is plenty of risk as well. All the offensive players were drafted early this year due to the depth of defensive players. Davis to me is similar to the WRs last year.

Davis comes into the league with the reputation of being a polished route runner. For all the talents of Treadwell and Doctson, they were and still are very raw. Titans being a run first team was/is to protect a young QB and maximize their personnel. Can't throw often if you don't have great options to throw to. Would expect the offense to evolve and grow as Mariota gets better.

Also I get that the Bengals have a lot of guys with character issues but Mixon hasn't been someone who habitually gets in trouble at least as far as anyone knows. One terrible incident and then the parking ticket thing. Some of the guys in the draft like Cook and Westbrook apparently have multiple issues and repeat offenses.
