Lots of Capital for AJ Green?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Lots of Capital for AJ Green?

Postby Never Veto1 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 11:05 am

Give: Moncrief, Snead, and Pryor
Get: AJ Green

This seems like a lot to give up for one guy, considering all 3 are startable players. I get Green is the main guy in this trade, but that is a lot of depth, and he'll be hitting 29 this year so his prime will be ending over the next couple years.

My Team -- 12 team ppr
Luck, Wentz, Siemian
Gordon, Lacy, Kelley, Stewart, Du Johnson, Mathews, Michael
Bryant, Pryor, Moncrief, Snead, Fitz, Maclin, Thielen, Gordon, Kearse
Gronk and Rudolph

Picks -- 1.01 and 1.10
12 Team 1QB PPR
8 Starters - QB 1, RB 2(4), WR 3(5), TE 1(3)

QB - Kyler Murray, Derek Carr, Kenny Pickett
RB - Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson, Kyren Williams, Travis Etienne, James Conner, Antonio Gibson, Chris Rodriguez
WR - Tee Higgins, Jordan Addison, Michael Pittman, Nico Collins, Rashee Rice, Christian Watson, Jerry Jeudy, Rashod Bateman
TE - Sam Laporta, Kyle Pitts, Darren Waller, Isaiah Likely
Picks - 2.10, 3.10, 4.10, 5.10

Green is every bit as good as Brown or Julio and I bet you wouldn't ask if it was those two? I would give this for AJG without thinking twice

I won't deny it would hurt your depth. But I would be willing to give that up for AJG. Then just capitalize on that 1.01 when it's OTC and trade Gronk in season for Olsen+. Then you'll be good to go.

This is my dilemma, I don't deny Green is the best piece, however if I make this trade all my depth at WR is gone. Fitz will probably be gone after this year, so after this year if I don't make another move I'll only have Dez, AJ Green, Maclin, and Thielen

Unless you're required to start 4 WRs each and every week, I wouldn't lose any sleep giving up those three names for Green.

If you're really concerned with your depth, remove one of your favored ones and include your later 1st round pick.

Do it. Too good of value to pass up, even if you're giving up depth. What would your starting WRs look like pre and post trade?

Easy accept for me. Pryor is on a new team, new offense and Cousins may leave next year. Moncrief still hasn't emerged as a viable weekly starter in a 12 team. Snead is decent but disappeared for more than half of the games last year. AJG is a top 5 WR next 2 seasons and a top 15 for a few after that. AJG is elite and I'd take that every day. Plus, you'd free up 2 roster spots with which you can take a shot on a few waiver WR types.

I prefer Green, Fitz, and Maclin/Theilen over Pryor, Crief, and Snead/Fitz. Green is the only true stud out of that group and the rest will put up similar numbers.

Well done deal, sounds like most are on board with it, I'll figure out a way to get some depth later and enjoy having AJ in another league
