Rookie draft advice

Postby Meretc01 » Tue Apr 25, 2017 5:47 pm

Sig 2

In this draft I have 1.2, 1.7,2.2,2.3 and looking to add 2 RBs, 1 wr and 1 TE..

Just looking for simple inquiries and suggestions..

This post might be too soon but..

1.2 I was leaning towards mixon if he lands in a good situation but if Davis is still there.. idk.

1.7- Alvin kamara/Zay Jones

2.2 evan Ingram/ Nitjoku (idk how to spell his name)
2.3 godwin,foreman,

My question is.. the talent is there do you risk your marbles on mixon?
Opinions on Kamara and Jones

2.3 really looking for a good rb prospect at 2.3

McCaffery or Davis is the pick at 2 if you are passing on Cook.

Don't like the options at 1.07. Prefer Howard there or would take Ross if WR is your pick.

RB at 1.2. Up to you as to who. Am fine with Mixon if he is your guy.

1.7 is too high for Jones imo.

In my leagues I don't expect either Engram or Njoku to be there at 2.2.

I am having the same debate at 1.02. I need to go RB and am wondering what everyone else's opinions are of the top 3 RB's. I like Mixon but both Cook and Fournette are going to be good. We will know a whole lot more after this weekend.

Here's what I would do: (especially if your draft is post NFL draft)

1.02 - Wait till draft to determine RB. I'm inclined to take McCaffery, but that's me, and before knowing landing spots. Mixon has the talent. Watch where hes drafted. If he goes in round 1/2, I'm very happy to have him here. Rnd 3/4, I'm alright with it, but would prob take someone else. If he falls past round 4, I'll let someone else take a shot. NFL draft can tell you a lot of how that team values the player.

1.07 - If you want a TE, I'd look Howard, unless hes drafted by the Jets. They don't utilize TEs, and I'd rather take a shot at Engram,Njoku,Butt later in this draft than Howard as a Jet. He is a darn good football player, but I just don't think he hits close to his full potential in NY.

**Should be a shakeup post draft in rankings. Especially here. I can see Foreman, Godwin, Kamara, Perine and even Henderson making a jump to this spot, barring the right landing spot. After the "top-6" there is really a good mix of guys that could flip flop to 1.07.**

2.02/2.03 - Best Player available. Plenty of talent left.
I know you are looking to get an allotted amount of guys at each position, but make sure you dont reach too much just to get a WR/RB/TE here. It can be easy to do, but be mindful of overall rankings too. No sense in taking the #24 rank guy at spot 15, just because you need a TE, and hes the next one up...

Chan Gailey doesn't use tight ends but he's gone. Jets need all the offensive weapons they can get.

I'd take zay jones off my board. Cook/mixon or mac at 2. Foreman, oj Howard or kamara at 7. Take a chance at tight end in the second. Don't overlook sheehan, butt, or Bucky Hodges at tight end either.
