Tannehill for Goff/Murray

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tannehill for Goff/Murray

Postby craigii » Mon Apr 24, 2017 10:03 am

For team #3 in my signature. This is a super flex league, so QBs come at quite a premium. I am looking to get a better QB2 and have been offered the following:

I Give
J. Goff
D. Murray

I Get
R. Tannehill

Is this a move you would make or should I go after a little higher QB2? I also fear that it leaves me a little light at RB.

NOTE: I won the league last year and should be competitive this year.

WR - D. Adams, K. Golladay, C. Godwin, M. Gallup, A. Miller, A. Jeffery

I really like this move in a Superflex league as you move an old RB with Goff to make a nice upgrade to your #2 QB.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

I wouldn't mind moving Murray, but I'd go after a better option at QB. I'm just not completely sold on Tanny.

It doesn't matter if you are sold on Tanny or not. Miami is, they paid him a lot of $$. I would take Tannehill all day for D. Murray who has 8 games of elite production.
Team #1 (Finished 2nd)
QB - Watson
RB - Hall, Jacobs, Mixon
WR - Tyreek, Jefferson, Chase, Jayden Reed, Godwin, Cooper
TE - Goedert, Kmet
2024 Picks: 1.05, 1.10, 2.01

Team #2 (Finished 1st)
QB - Tua, Pickett
RB - Hall, Barkley, K. Walker, James Cook
WR - Chase, D. Smith, D. Adams, Hopkins, Jameson Williams
TE - Laporta
2024 Picks: None

Miami can be sold on him all they want and pay him all they want, doesn't mean he's going to be a good fantasy QB. I have nothing against him, but would much rather have him as my QB3 than QB2. Alex Smith got paid by KC too, but I'm not trading valuable assets to get him.

The primary reason I am supportive of this trade is because I simply don't like Goff. The only thing that will keep him his job is the Rams selecting him at #1 overall. Given the choice between Tannehill as my #2 or Goff, I'll gladly take Tannehill.

I can't disagree with that. My original point was for the OP to try and get someone better with those players. If he absolutely can't, then I wouldn't fault him for taking this deal.

In a superflex, no one is giving up stafford for an old rb and Goff

I don't like it for you but I'm not a Tannehill fan.
