1.4, 1.9, 1.11, 2.10 18 first for Bell

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.4, 1.9, 1.11, 2.10 18 first for Bell

Postby acclizal » Sat Apr 22, 2017 7:27 pm

Hey guys this is for the team in my signature.

Been going back and forth with the bell owner and he is asking me for the 1.4, 1.9, 1.11, 2.10 and an 18 first for Bell.

I have shopped the DJ owner and I can't even get him to engage. With my roster below do you think Bell is my missing piece and I should go for it or keep the picks and build out the rest of this roster? If I did this deal I would still have the 2.4, 2.8, 2.9, 3.4 and 4.4.

Let me know what you think

While I think it's not a *bad* price, you've already got Gurley and Zeke and I'm not sure Bell is a needed target. Think you'd be better off targeting a cheaper RB2 for depth and another solid WR.

People will probably say I'm nuts, but I'd keep your picks. With the team you already have in place and your starting requirements, I'd feel confident and would want to pay that much for Bell. The caveat to this would be roster space. I see 7 players on the offensive side that would be easy cuts, but if you think rostering all these picks will be a difficult task, then I'd be more likely to package them for a single player.

Keep the picks until after the draft and figure out where the guys you'll be giving up on will be playing before making a decision. I could see (valid) arguments either way.

Assuming that's your 18 1st and it projects late, I would make this deal. Having those three RBs in a league that rewards carries would have to instantly make you one of the favorites to win the championship. Your depth beyond your top three RBs and top four WRs is largely unproven, so a rash of injuries could derail your title dreams this season. But your seven key studs would all be really young, so this trade gives you a good look at multiple titles over the next 3-4 seasons. I would make this trade and then look to move some of your other less proven young players with upside (Coleman, Parker, Ertz, maybe McKinnon) for some dependable veteran depth.

If it were me...
Because of your starting requirements and great depth at receiver... I would try including Gurley in the deal in order to keep some of those picks. The upgrade from Gurley to Bell is what champions are made of. Keeping some of those picks for depth/upside youth in the process would just be icing.

I would do that in a heartbeat for your team. That 18 1st should be late, so I wouldn't lose sleep over giving that up. I love the upgrade over Gurley and automatically makes you the favorite (most likely, without knowing the rest of your league, but hard to imagine there would be better teams).

Keep the picks, and draft 2 RB's in the draft.

I'm pretty surprised at the amount of people saying keep the picks. Outside of the 1.04, most of those picks are likely to bust or at least take a year or two to actually help your team. Heck, you shouldn't expect the 1.04 to help your team this year either. For a team who's competing, this just seems like a no brainer and a cheap price to pay for an elite player.

I think you might be underestimating Gurley's value in a league like this. Even in what was widely considered a down year for Gurley, he still had 278 carries last year. With those extra 55.6 points, he outscored all but eight WRs last season. Not only should he keep Gurley, he should probably be starting him most weeks in lieu of a fourth WR.

If you want a sexy roster you keep the picks...if you prefer to not be scared amd win titles then Bell is the easy answer here!

I personally prefer titles so I would make this move immediately and not think twice about it.

I would take Bell. The picks are great, and with it being a point per carry league you would be starting bell, gurley and zeke every week and have a huge advantage over everyone else. The odds of two of any of those picks becoming close to Bell is still very low.

You accumulate assets to be able to do a deal like this where you trade lesser pieces for a stud. I'd gladly turn my loose change for a dollar bill.
