What side would you pick?

Postby CharlieKelly » Sat Apr 22, 2017 11:41 am

I am in a 16 team PPR league with pretty large starting lineups (1QB / 2RB / 3WR / 1TE / 2Flex), and it's a salary league as well. Our FA options this year are very slim pickings. Contracts increase by 20% every year.

Which side would you rather have? (total cap hit of each player in parentheses)

I give: Lamar Miller (10%) + Diggs (2%) + Eifert (5%)

I get: Zeke (5%)

My Team:
QB - Palmer (6%), Siemian (2%)
RB - Miller (10%), CJA (1%), Duke Johnson (2%), Sproles (8%), Sims (1%)
WR - Jordy (12%), ARob (4%), Diggs (2%), Tyreek (1%), Lockett (2%), Meredith (1%)
TE - Reed (6%), Eifert (5%)

I'd be giving up my RB1, one of my top WRs on an incredible contract (Diggs), and a top 3 dynasty TE and insurance for if (or when) Reed goes down.

Is it worth giving up all of this depth?

Those are some good pieces and I understand depth is huge in a league like this but Elliot at 5% is a great piece, I'd pull the trigger.

I'm leaning Zeke as well. I'm not big on Diggs and Lamar is ok but not great.

Keep in mind we also have a 20% increase in salaries every year, and the top 5 rookies all have contracts assigned to them equal to roughly 5% of our cap, similar to what Zeke has right now.

So while Zeke's contract will continue to rise at a steady pace and will approach about 10% of my cap within the next couple of years, Diggs will stay below 5% for the next 5 or so years.

Give me Zeke. Even with the cap increase, that just means the other players in the deal also get an increase and I wouldn't want to be paying Miller that much.

Zeke for sure. Diggs is nice, but a part of me feels like now is a great time to sell Diggs. As a Vikings fan, I'm not certain he can be the 1,000 yard ppr monster like that each year.
