Poll: Gurley offer. Which side?

Postby dchurch85 » Wed Apr 19, 2017 10:54 am

Hey all,

I've been hearing some people saying to sell Gurley this year so I started thinking maybe I should in team 2.

Do I sell Gurley for 1.03? I have 1.01 already, but I'm tempted by LF and Cook/Mixon/McCaffery. Is it worth Gurley to get that pick?

Thanks all.

If you're not a believer any longer then get the pick and gamble on another RB. Keep in mind though, this is selling short although many will disagree with that.

Gurley should net you at least another 1st on top of 1.03. See if they'll add in a 18 1st too. Otherwise I'd hold. Gurley should bounce back and have a decent year.

I think there is a bounce back here as well with Fisher gone. But you should net more than the 1.03. Gurley was 10th off the board in his draft. The talent is there and he is still be drafted in a similar way.

I'm hoping so, over his career, outside the first few games, he hasn't been good. I know he was drafted early, etc... But what if he doesn't rebound? His value may be even lower...

If you saw Gurley run much in college, especially the SEC Championship against Alabama you wouldn't not ask this question.

If the offense turns around in LA you will deeply regret this trade. Gurley is one of the top five running backs I have ever seen coming out of college. I am 56, so that's a pretty long time.

Gurley for me. Hate selling low so I avoid it like the plague, and would rather go down with the ship for players I believe in.

I imagine this will be the cheapest Gurley can be had via trade, for likely the next 5 yrs or so. So great time to buy, terrible time to sell.

If you want a recent example: Mike Evans had a similar buy low window last offseason, due to his poor TD numbers and subsequent WR26 ranking. Now look at the price you'd have to pay to get him. I fully expect Gurley to return to top 10 RB form, and as such, his trade price to bounce back in a similar fashion. Likely not to the degree of Evans, but prob far greater than the trade values that are being offered now for Gurley.

Thanks all. I'm gonna hold, at least for that 1.03 offer. Would you trade him for Hopkins?

Would need a small plus on the Hopkins side. Just think it's going to be easier to Gurley to get back to relevance, than it will be for Dhop. That QB situation in Houston is a mess. Also Gurley is a 3 down back, those are getting harder and harder to find in this age of the RBBC.

Normally yes, but I don't see how that helps you unless you trade for a RB to replace Gurley.

Gurley's upside is as high as anyone's. His main issue is the risk he carries after last year. I don't think 1.03 is any less risky, and whether or not it will have the same upside is debateable. I would keep Gurley.

Gurley > 1.01

Gurley slightly over Hopkins, plus I wouldn't trade him if I would be in a tight spot at RB

It's gurley easy, but if he has another year like last year, his value will take a huge hit.
