Tyrell Williams Value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I'm selling pre-draft if I own Williams and not looking back. He may have another solid year in 2017, but even the UDFAs who put up more than one good WR season typically burn fast (Miles Austin). I don't like to get caught holding the goods during the flame out.
You can't dismiss every UDFA so offhandedly...

Wes Welker was one. So was Wayne Chrebet. While there are surely more failures than successes, every player has to be evaluated individually.

Tyrell is a more physical presence and player than Keenan. As such not only is he better at contested balls but also a superior red zone threat. This isn't going to get overlooked with Keenan's return.

It sounds like there are plenty of leagues where he can be had for picks outside of the first round. I've seen far too many prospects with better draft pedigree completely flame out that Tyrell presents a lot more guarantees than anyone that will get drafted in the latter part of the first round or later in this draft.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

I've got a dynasty squad with Keenan-Tyrell, Landry, Pyror, Corey Coleman, Malcolm Mitchell and we have serious cut downs to only 10 players overall.

Would you value Tyrell, knowing I have Keenan, or Pyror more?

I may look to sell one of them.

If it helps, I sold him for Parker and 2.06 in a league. I do not believe he was a one hit wonder but it is naive not acknowledge that there is a real risk. I would not sell him for a second alone as others have suggested just because I don't think you would be accomplishing anything from a risk standpoint.

If I can get a late first / early second rd pick for him I'd take it quickly. I think he will still see plenty of targets with coverage rolling to Allen, but he will have a drop off.

Allen can't stay health, Benjamin is a deep threat and Henry can only do so much. Tyrell is a very good dynasty asset. There's threads on him on all the time and the value is all over the place. If you can buy him cheap, don't hesitate.

Agreed. I don't see him being "the guy". Maybe he has some talent, but that's a crowded offense. Keenan is gonna get his if he stays healthy, which I bet he does

He's at least proven it for a year. He looked really good. He had two bad games and both we against the elite Denver defense. He's a prototypical wide receiver that you look for. I don't see how a Ross or Godwin, or whoever WR you would take in the late 1st range, would have a higher chance at sustained production. Doesn't matter that he's undrafted at this point.

Good point. I change my stance to a mid-late first.

The UDFA nonsense is beyond ridiculous. Saw someone post the same blabber last week about another UDFA.

I really like Ty Williams and own him in several leagues. He's a hold for me right now because I want to see if Allen can stay healthy and I want to see how the Chargers use him when Allen is in there. Williams played very well last season, I don't think that the Chargers will totally forget about him just because Keenan is back. It would take a late first plus a decent piece for me to even think about trading him right now.

To be fair, Ross and Godwin aren't top 5 picks. I get what you're saying, but there's no way anyone (maybe Skip) is paying a top 5 pick for him.
