Took a gamble

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Took a gamble

Postby blacklab1010 » Mon Apr 10, 2017 12:57 pm

I gambled on white and dion

I gave up the 2.10, 2018 4th and 2019 3rd for these 2 guys. I really needed some depth in our start 3 rb league in sig. Did I pay too much for them? also what do you think the value of blount is if I go after him.

I don't think so, but WHY on earth would you buy them knowing NE plug and plays RB week to week? Last I heard Blount is coming back which makes things just like last year. Only situation I would want the NE backfield would be bestball type format.

10 team format you need STUD players, not FLEX or RB5/6 types.

I think with Bell & DJ you get top RB production no matter who your RB3 is. Seems like a slight overpay to me, but if you get lucky one of them emerges as the clear 3rd down guy you probably won't regret it.

Thanks for the feedback, I did get a little worried about the cj anderson saga and possibly panicked a little. We must start 3 plus bye weeks. I know that they both have contracts that end after this year so knowing NE they will just let one or both go instead of paying them. They have both shown what they can do on the field. Hoping to use them some this year and get lucky next free agency. I really don't want to spend my 1.04 on a rb when there will probably be a good wr there for me.

Luckily you didn't give up anything of major value, and of either have a decent season, it could be a steal for you. I would have preferred you went after someone else though.

Agreed. Not a fan of the move, but in the end what did you truly lose?

It doesn't really sound like you paid too much, but as a James White owner I am hoping that it doesn't end up as the Rex Burkhead show. There are a lot of people high on him right now.

I like the move for you-- Lewis and White are both better in PPR so having either at what looks to be RB4 at best according to your signature, is a good deal IMO.

You look to have an obsession w/ handcuffing a team's RB situation and have a ton of roster fodder on that team....

I agree i do obsess some, because i don't like scrambling mid season trying to find a 3rd starting rb because of injuries or pot. Even finding a decent bye week fill in is tough, there are 32 nfl teams and in a ten team which isn't even deep there would need to be 40 nfl teams for each of us to have 4 rbs. As you see no one can afford to give one up unless you overpay big. As the RB injuries mount these numbers get even worse.
