this is why calcs dont work

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

this is why calcs dont work

Postby sloth8u » Thu Mar 09, 2017 11:49 am

i just figured that i'd throw this in the team advice forum for the offseason.

i receive...luck
i give... dak, martin, graham

with a kind letter from the co-commish telling me how fair this is via the calculator.

Yep, calculators let nickels, dimes, quarters add up to a dollar. I do use them occasionally when it's 1:1, 2:2 type deals just to "double check"

The minute a reference to a trade calculator enters trade talks, the discussion is basically dead.

Took me a minute to grasp what happening here, but yeah that's not even close. Luck way overvalued as far as I am concerned.

this is exactly the point. no matter how even qb scoring is/or isnt (in a few owner's opinions) you should never get caught up in this. the difference between 375 and 400 is not martin and graham when it comes to qbs

As much as I'd like to see Luck become the second coming of Dan Marino, I just don't think the Colts are going to let that happen. He's getting killed on a weekly basis and it won't take long before his potential gets beaten out of him. I still like him more than Prescott straight up, but the 3 for 1 is a joke. Bad calculator, bad...get off the counter.....

If I was rebuilding I would consider the Dak side. But assuming that's Doug Martin and Jimmy Graham. Martin's value is rapidly declining. Jimmy Graham had a nice bounce back year, but I don't see him sustaining those stats. Unless this is a TE premium league, you can replace Jimmy easy.

I'll take the Luck side here and thank the Commish for the gift of the offer.

Not a fan of 3 for 1 type deals when I'm receiving the 3. Means I probably gave up the best player in the deal AND I have to figure out 2 guys to waive to bring in the extra pieces. Would have to be something where I get 1.50 back for my 1.00 since I can probably find a couple dimes on waiver wire.
