PPR Superflex Dynasty Startup ADVICE

Postby cmv60 » Mon Mar 06, 2017 6:56 am

Started with OBJ at 1.01. Long wait until 2.12. This league is Superflex AND TE premium (1.5PPR for TEs).

This is my first dynasty startup that's both SF and TE prem. Any advice from someone experienced in this format?

I plan to draft for value (which is usually my plan) but any specific strategies anyone has used that works is what I'm interested in.

Thanks everyone!

I would make sure you have 3 STARTING QBs. Injuries can happen and will, not to mention you want to be starting 2 QBs every week as the consistency and point production from the QB position is almost always > then anyone else you would start in your flex position on a weekly basis. I would 100% grab a QB when it gets back to you.

OBJ would not have been my pick at 1.01 in a Superflex. Follow this up and tell us which QBs are still there at the next turn. Hopefully you will get lucky and have a lot of "traditional" owners who don't play in these leagues and are also grabbing position players instead of QBs and you can get someone like Carr and another similarly ranked one at 3.01.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

From my experience you are looking at Matt Ryan or Carson Wentz at the 2/3 turn. I'd try to move up a few spots if Winston, Mariota, or Carr slip to the 2.07 range.

Thanks. It's still way too early to tell how guys will value QB (we're only through 5 picks....) so I will definitely be on the ready to move up if needed if there's a run of QBs.

In my last draft in this format, I loaded up on elite WRs for the first two times through, and grabbed 2nd tier QB for rounds 3-4. Guys like Ryan, Rivers, Dalton, Brady, Brees and the like were out there, which worked fine. Hell, Cam might be available in that range if the chips fall right. Just my thoughts.

I'm considering this approach myself. I'm drafting exactly in the middle 1.06 and 2.07 on the turn. I feel like the 2nd tier QBs due to age or lack of sexiness will be very useful and productive. It'll be interesting.

Cam will not be there at 2.12. I'm in a start-up now and he slid to 2.01 which is the latest I think he can go.

Go QB QB at the turn unless it's absolutely picked over. Then nab rookie picks later on instead I guess to get some qbs that way.

That's my plan. Or if it's mostly picked over I'll likely go QB/best available.

So I moved up at got Jameis at 2.09. I'm now up at 3.04. Gronk is available and this a TE premium league 1.5 PPR, should I snatch him up? There's also Dez, Keenan, Kelce, and the rookie 1.01 available I'd consider too. Best QBs left are: Stafff, Brees, Ben, Cousins, Rivers, Wentz.
