Will Devante Parker be a breakout player in 2017?

Postby Dynasty19 » Mon Jan 30, 2017 10:53 am

Will D. Parker finally breakout and be a consistent WR2 with WR1 upside in 2017? I have not watched much of his college or pro footage but I've heard he has major potential to be a top 20 WR!
10 Team - Full PPR
QB - Wentz, Mayfield, Carr
RB - Chubb, Bell, Conner, Lindsay, McKinnon
WR - Adams, OBJ, AJ Brown, McLaurin, Cooks, Crowder, Watkins
TE - Engram, Goedert, Howard, Knox

He looked great this year, still playing behind landry but with Ajayi potentially making the defense focus on him and Top corners guarding Landry he has a good chance. Only thing that will hold him back is Stills.

The problem with this is Landry plays 90% of his snaps out of the slot and is very rarely facing the #1 corner. Very very few top corners move from outside to inside so when most think Landry is getting the top corner its actually going to be Parker.. With that said I am still a fan of Parker to break out, but this thread seems like deja vu to me from last year.

Agreed...And the previous four years with Michael Floyd. I think Parker is a better talent than Floyd, but I don't think he is nearly as good as where he is valued in the dynasty community, at least not to this point. He's still young and there is time, but I need to see significant production before I'm moving to acquire him.

I read somewhere a few weeks ago that he was seeing more targets from his QB the last few games of the year and appeared to have finally got in sinc and earned the trust of his QB. So if I rely on my memory on this one and the article had merit, then it appears he could be in for a breakout season. I, personally, am going with that and looking to pick him up cheap in my league if I can.

His targets didn't change thru the course of the season. Not enough to make a significant difference anyway.

Very valid point. I sometimes tend to forgot Landry plays a similar style to OBJ and lines up in the slot. Very good points. However still being WR2 regardless of corner does help a little

I'm a fan of Parker and would love to have him on my team as I believe this will be a big improvement year for him. He has the skills and size not his head needs to catch up to put it all together.

I believe in DP. That being said, everyone values him differently so I won't buy him if the price is silly. I own him in 2 of 3 leagues, however.

In the team in sig, I've put out 2 different offers to try and snag Parker away, but his owner is rebuilding so he wouldn't have much incentive to sell Parker right now
