Do you like my trade?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Do you like my trade?

Postby MARKinMI » Mon Jun 21, 2010 7:15 pm

I traded DJax & a 2011 2nd rounder for Henne, Nicks & a 3rd rounder. I needed another qb after warner retired and I like Nicks long term. my only reservation is I traded a starter without getting a starter back and I also traded Djax to my main competition. what do you guys think?

Welcome to the boards!

I like this deal for you. In a start 2 QB league, QBs are so important. I am expecting Henne to have at least close to a breakout year. To pick him up and only take the slight downgrade imo from DeSean to Nicks is definitely a good move.
Start: 2 QB, 3 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE (All TDs=6, 1 per 10 rush/rec, 1 per 25 pass, NO PPR) 8 teams
QB: Rodgers, Vick, Cutler, Schaub, Luck
RB: Rice, CJ, McFadden, Richardson, Stewart, Ingram, Spiller, Vereen
WR: Green, Marshall, Roddy, Jennings, Roddy, Bowe, Maclin, Britt, A Brown, Williams (TB), Collie, Smith (STL)
TE: Graham, Finley, F Davis, Cook
Taxi Squad: Tebow, Crabtree, Jeffrey, Hill, Gordon

Going forward I'd rather have Nicks than Jackson myself. It might not be this year that Nicks overtakes him, but I believe he will. Nice deal.

I have a long running league quite similar to your sig setup minus a few things of course. I think you made a fair deal with your nemesis. I would rather have your side long term...

I like Nicks as a long term prospect. Short term you lose some of the Flex player flexibility that DJax provided but beyond this year Nicks has the potential to outperform DJax (some might see that as a conservative estimate). Acquiring another young promising QB in a start 2QB league is important and difficult. Considering 2QB leagues often see all the talented rookie QBs taken early its a good thing to have a nice reserve. While Henne may or may not crack your starting lineup this year he's a nice insurance policy for Brett Favre.

thanks for the welcome guys. Its nice to see dynasty sites popping up. The old days stunk, you had to scrounge around for info on redraft sites then then apply it to your own dynasty league. great site.
as far as the trade, not having Djax will hurt my starting lineup. I killed my league last yr starting 2 rbs & 5wrs & 1te. wrs because of the long td bonuses tend to score more than RBs. Djax actually finished 3rd in wr scoring in our league. in a perfect world I couldve made this deal with a bottom feeder in our league but I had to give to my competition. I just hope either Nicks,Britt or Braylon are somewhat useful for me this yr cuz as you can see I have no RB depth.

Welcome, and I like the deal for you. It's a bit of a risk, but has a decent chance of paying off. Adding Henne helps your team significantly.

The poitns for longer TDs helps Jackson's value a lot, but I still like the deal.

I like it only because its a start 2 QB league.

I think you did well. Henne's a guy on the rise IMO as is Nicks. As many of you already know I'm not real high on Desean...
