Alshon for Jordy Straight up

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Alshon for Jordy Straight up

Postby RYRY3757 » Mon Dec 05, 2016 7:36 pm

So the owner of Alshon is making a playoff push and wants my Jordy Nelson. I'm out of the playoffs. Do I make this trade?

I know Alshon is 26 and Jordy is 31.
I know the Bears have a question mark at QB
I know Alshon is a free agent next year

Do I make this trade?

Please Help

I think Alshon has slightly more value. Since you're in the driver seat with him desperate to make something happen, id ask for a little more. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick on top

RB- Henry, Gordon, Cohen, Ogunbowale, Hines, Gus Edwards, Damien Harris
WR- Landry, AJB, Deebo, Chark, Preston Williams

If you are not competing this year then I will accept this offer right away. I won't lose the deal over 2nd or 3rd. It's already good deal.

^Exactly how I'd put it.

If you're going to contend in the next two years, though, I'd rather have Jordy.

Do you guys not think that Jordy can play next year at a high level? I think he's one that has 2 really good years yet or do you feel that am I off my rocker?

For what it's worth, Jordy is top-10 this year. And I have no doubt -- none! -- that he will be better next year: it takes that second year to return fully from an ACL injury, and you can see his limitations on the field. He has (at least) two more elite years left. Of course, that's why I posted earlier that, if the OP is planning to contend in the next couple of years, I'd keep Jordy.

Bet you'd have thought Alshon would have dominated Jordy this season too, but what happened instead?

Puzzling how you could think that suddenly the script will flip for the next 6 years?
