1.1 or 1.2 it's easy to pick.

1.3 (mike Williams) I would say it's a wash. Probably keep the proven player.

1.4 easy cooks.

Surprises the hell outta me. What exactly has Cooks proven? That he's a boom or bust WR2 with an aging QB. Gimme a top 4 2017 1st over Cooks all day.

It's not really all that surprising honestly. I sold the 2016 1.01 for Cooks and TY (post draft though)

I'll be the contrarian then as I think one could make a compelling case that Cooks has peeked. With Michael Thomas already taking on WR1 in NO, and Snead not going anywhere, Cooks has had 3 years to establish himself. He's a great WR2, but will always be boom or bust. Factor in Brees is in decline and maybe the light flickers on for Fleener this coming year, and no way am I paying an upper end 1st round pick for Cooks. Especially in this upcoming stacked '17 class. Good luck,

I think this is a little more complicated than '1st/2nd rd start-up for rookie picks.' Michael Thomas looks like a legitimate threat to be the no1 there, Brees doesn't have very much longer and there's no certainty that Cooks is still so highly rated next year.

Thomas: 95/1148/10
Cooks: 74/1071/9
Snead: 74/863/6

I think the Thomas vs. Cooks angle is being overplayed. There's plenty of room for them to both succeed. Not to mention, Cooks by himself is a 1st round WR, with elite college production, big time athleticism and speed. I would be mindful of what rookie pick you're trading him for. To me, it'd have to be a Top 2 pick. Otherwise, I'm keeping the 23-year-old WR who already has a WR1 season under his belt.

And just like Tom Brady, we figure that he doesn't have much longer, but he's still producing at an elite level. Brees is on pace for 5217 yards and 44 TD's. I'd say he's got another 3-4 years left, which is enough time to not negatively impact someone's dynasty outlook. It'd be different if he were doing what Carson Palmer is right now.
