Julio 3 for 1 Trade?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Julio 3 for 1 Trade?

Postby SoShady » Wed Nov 16, 2016 11:27 pm

Going back to the start up draft I traded for a 2017 1st round pick. His pick is sitting at 1.1 at the moment with 3 games remaining. His team is 3-7 another team is 3-7 and we have 5 4-6 teams. He has been very persistent in his attempts to get his pick back this season. Most of the offers have been easily rejected. But he is now putting Julio on the table. But he's asking for much more back than just his 1st round pick. I would counter back off this initial offer because I have zero interest in Gates. But would you give up the pick and the young package? I really like the two players he's asking for. So I want to try to remove my views and see what you guys think. I worry if I give up Henry and the pick my RB core is horrible behind a aging Forte. Even in a league that I only have to start 1 RB. I don't know if I want to gash my RB core that badly.

Give - D Henry, K White and possible 1.1

Get - Julio, A Gates

I'd see if I could get another side piece instead of Gates, but if I couldn't I'd still do the deal.

Julio has tasty matchups down the stretch- he's worth a lot more than the 1.01 IMO, so if you think he'll get you a title, I'd make that trade. He has 2 PRIME years left and will still be solid for 4-5.

The value is really good here, but man you'd be lacking any kind of young RB talent going forward. By rejecting the trade, you can have Fournette/Cook and Henry next season. By accepting, you'd essentially have 0 quality young backs.

Do you have a chance to win the title this year? If so, I think you should make this trade, with Alshon out and the ability to start 5! WRs, Julio's value can't be overlooked.

If you don't think you have a chance to win the title, I would still consider this trade, but see if you could maybe switch out Henry for JBrown. If he isn't willing to remove Henry from the deal I would probably still take it. While the 1.1 will be worth a ton, I don't think it will be worth as much as the 1.1 this year as there is a larger pool of RBs to choose from. Also it's hard to imagine a landing spot better than where Zeke ended last year. The 1.1 will probably end up with an ADP around 15, Julio will still be top 5.
Kevin white's young career has been riddled with injuries and when he is healthy has hasn't show that he is any good at football. With someone who is so raw, these early years in the NFL are pivotal, I think he is a bust and this time next year is a JAG off the ww. While I'm a bit higher on brown, his value doesn't bridge the different between Julio and a unknown rookie, which still isn't guaranteed to be the 1.1.

I don't think I have a chance at the title. The top team has 368 more points than my team has. My team is much closer to the 4-6 and one 3-7 team than a title contender. I have just got lucky with a mini win streak the last 3 weeks. I like the idea of building up slowly with a top RB in this years draft and D Henry. Than blowing my load for a WR that won't put me over the top.

You need WR depth as much as RB depth. I'd make the trade and worry about RB depth later -- that's MUCH easier to fill in.

With your starting requirements I take Julio easily here. What are the guarantees any of these rbs coming out can preform up to Julio's level? Julio's a proven players where it still is a bit of a crap shot in the draft. Make the deal and make the run towards a title.

Make the trade. Pairing Julio and OBJ gives you a chance to win every week.

3-5 more years of eliteness from Julio is worth a whole lot more than what you're being asked to give up.

I am in a similar situation with the team in my signature - currently 3-7 and I recently traded Juilo away as I don't think I can win it in the near term

I traded Julio for Fuller, Moncrief and 1st in 2017 and 2018

That is the kind of value you should be expecting to give for Julio
