Moving on from Dez...

Postby LaFleur42 » Fri Oct 21, 2016 8:19 pm

So I guess I'm just tired of waiting but considering throwing out Dez and TWest for TY Hilton in team 1. Thoughts?

I prefer Dez over TY so wouldn't be adding to him. If contending and TY puts you over the top I could understand straight up swap but not adding to Dez.

Agree with the above. Bad time to trade Dez and I definitely wouldn't add to him to get Hilton.

On a side note, I noticed you have Ameer on both of your teams and one is actually named after him. I assume you're a Husker fan?
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

I don't think this is a terrible deal. Hilton isn't as good as Dez, but he still puts up WR1 numbers. He's on pace for 101/1483/8 this season. It's a potential undersell if Dez returns to form, but not by a ton. If you're in a situation to win now, I could totally see trading Dez for Hilton.

Yes...for team 1 I am currently sitting in 2nd place in division and 4th place overall with a 4-2 record and that was riding the Brady/Gronk storm of the first 4 weeks. Guy who is first in my division just lost Lacy, has an injured Big Ben (with Brown), and has Hyde as well. Not quiet sure how long West is going to keep up from the past couple weeks, but I just don't see him moving with the same steam. Hilton, with the exception of last week, has been on fire. He is young, is currently the second leading target receiver, and is in a high powered offense. I know this is potentially selling Dez low, but I think it puts my in win mode.

I've had Dez for four years just traded him straight up for TY have no quarrels about it and not looking back it's been one headache after another and not near the consistent production I want.

I thought I'd depress myself so I looked at Dez's stats since I took him at 1.04 in a start up draft before the the 2015 season - 42/551/4 in 12 games.

Still not selling him cheap though.

I feel your pain. I traded Watkins and Parker for him a few weeks into 2015 because I was in serious contention. He's been useless ever since, and that trade ultimately cost me the championship after Watkins finished strong.

I cannot WAIT to unload Dez, but like everyone else, I'll be damned if I''m going to do it now.

As for the TY trade, I agree that I would only pull the trigger if I was pretty certain I was going deep into the playoffs.

Dynasty football requires patience. Sometimes you have to wait on a struggling player. Dez is still Dez. He will bounce back. He may not ever be a top 5 wr anymore, but he is hands down a better talent than TY.. Don't panic when a player is struggling.

Now if you NEED to make a move to win now, and you feel like a player can help you get over that hump, you make the deal. But I wouldn't recommend trading Dez for Ty, especially not if you would need to add a decent RB.

I'm guessing this is going to look better and better that you didn't get this deal done. Mostly bc I think TY couldn't be more expensive with Moncrief out. Those guys prior to the injury were sharing the WR1 duty, and TY's touches are going to drop some when Donte comes back.
