Steve Smith or a 2017 3rd?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Steve Smith or a 2017 3rd?

Postby songintheair77 » Tue Jul 12, 2016 3:05 pm

For the team in my sig, I think I need one more WR to feel safe with my WR depth. I have 9 picks in the 2017 draft (3 in each round) so I know I will be able to do some restocking then. Steve Smith has been offered to me in exchange for one of my 3rd round picks. I know he's done after this season, and even maybe mid-season based on his recent comments, but is he a solid enough option to shoot for as the last WR on my bench?

(I was also offered Crabtree for two 2nd rounders, but I feel like that's too much- would it be worth it if I lowered it to a 2nd and a 3rd?)
Format - 12-team, keep forever, 0.5 PPR (1.0 PPR for TE), starts QB/2RB/2WR/TE/FLEX/K
QB: Russ, Darnold, Jones
RB: Mixon, Gibson, Henry, Carson, Tarik (IR), Darrynton Evans, Gio Bernard, Rashaad Penny, Deejay Dallas
WR: Keenan, Odell, Robert Woods, Robby Anderson, TY Hilton, John Brown, Ruggs, Tyler Johnson, Tyron Johnson
TE: Henry, Howard, Cook, Everett, Trautman

Yeah you definitely need another WR or 2. I wouldnt look at smith at all tho. Look at guys like Marshall, Decker, D Thomas, Jordy, Hilton, Crabtree (as you mentioned), Fitzgerald, Edelman, and Golden Tate

After looking again at your starting requirements, I think you need a stud RB more than WR depth, to make a run at the Ship this year. Be willing to move a 2017 or 2 for a stud RB, maybe even a package to land like an Ingram AND a Hilton or Tate

I would target someone other than Smith. He's not even sure he'll be ready to play until 5-6 weeks into the season.
12 Team. Roster 22, 4 TS. PPR, TE Prem (1.75). Start 1 QB, 5 flex (2 RB Max), 1 Def, 1 K
QB P. Mahomes, J. Goff, B Zappe (TS)
RB S. Barkley, N. Chubb, R. Stevenson, T. Pollard, J. Cook, K. Herbert, A. Mattison, E. Mitchell
WR AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, C. Kupp, A. Cooper, D. Hopkins, DJ Moore, B. Aiyuk, R. Doubs, K. Boutte (TS), C. Tillman (TS), M. Wilson (TS)
TE M. Andrews
Def Patriots, Ravens

Yup. Invest a lil more capital and get someone that you can bank on. Shoot for a Sanu, Vincent Jackson type of player instead of an older guy coming off a major injury in likely his last year. I think Snead is an awesome target if you can get him for a 2nd too.
