Offseason Moves

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Traded:
Watkins, 2018 1st (ended up 1.10- Calvin Ridley)
for
E. Elliott

I traded right after the news of the suspension. I am hoping it gets reduced and Elliott behaves.

Waiver Wire Moves:
Dropped B. Bottles for M. Trubisky
Dropped K. Drake for D. McFadden
Dropped Aguayo for Vinateri

My thinking. Bortles has sucked so far and I need a QB for the future as I have been playing QB Roulette for awhile now. Trubisky has looked good in the preseason and think he could be a decent to above average QB. K. Drake was believed to have a concussion and I just traded for Elliot so I wanted to have his handcuff especially when he misses those 6 games. Aguaya was just cut from Tampa after 1.5 seasons after drafting him in 2nd round. Not a good sign. Vinateri is always solid and think he may play 2-3 more years (heard radio interview and sounded like he wanted to play more than just this last year of his contract).

Traded '17 pick 7 for Dereck Carr and '17 pick 18
Traded '17 pick 18, D. Adams, & Lamar Miller for Bell
Traded '18 1st (should be late) & Bilal Powell for Jordy

Needed to upgrade my QBs and RBs drastically and I believe I've done so. I also wanted to target Jordy simply because he's still Rodgers' favorite target and due to his age. I figured he'd go for a lot less then other WRs with his potential. Got him for a 28 y/o RB on probably the worst team in the league and a late 1st round pick. I'm ok with that!

Still tossing around the idea of trying to get a better RB2.

I traded:

Rob Kelley, J. Cook, 2018 2nd (ended up 2.03- Anthony Miller), 2018 3rd (ended up 3.10- J. Rosen)
for
J. Edelman and C. Fleener

My thinking was that I wanted to upgrade my TE and I think Fleener takes a step forward on the Saints this year. I think Cook will be okay, but a lot of WRs in Oakland. The other team had Perrine and I wanted to obtain Edelman to strengthen my WRs next year. The second should be early in my opinion.

Traded:
A. Cooper, 1.03 (ended up N. Chubb), 1.08 (ended up ROJO)
for
D. Prescott, 1.01 (ended up Barkley)

My thinking was that I loved Cooper, but after this down year I feel I may over value him and recently heard a podcast that A. Cooper's name value exceeds his real value. I have never seen a prospect as good as Barkley so I wanted to give whatever it took to get him. I also needed the QB upgrade if I want to compete.

Yeah I prefer to stream the position and keep getting worse and worse every year. I entered the trade with no intention of upgrading QB but got declined and tried this one and he accepted.

Traded:
Edelman, Garcon, 2019 1st (mine)
for
J. Doyle, Joe Williams, 2019 1st, 2019 2nd
*I needed TE help and think Doyle can have a nice role with healthy A. Luck regardless of Ebron signing there.

Cam Meredith, Rams DEF
for
T. Taylor, Charges DEF, 2.07 (ended up TreQuan Smith), 3.06 (ended up J'Mon Moore)
*Really liked Meredith before the signing of A. Rob and T. Burton. I decided to get back into the second round of this draft by trading him and on paper the best DEF in league.
**The bears then didn't sign Meredith and he went to the Saints making this a loss most likely for me.

Joe Williams
for
Ricky Seals-Jones, 2019 3rd
*Other team had McKinnon and Breida so I offered Joe for a 3rd and he accepted.

3.06 (ended up J'Mon Moore), 3.08 (ended up Vance McDonald)
for
3.01 (ended up C. Edmonds)

Yikes. Was this before the Cooks trade was announced? Because I definitely wouldn't have sold Edelman that cheaply after.

Yep, this was before the Cooks trade. I agree that Edelman's value went up after that trade and I wish I would still have him, but that's the beauty of trades it can go either way for your players after the trade.

Re: Offseason Moves

Postby smbkrypt24 » Tue Jun 05, 2018 9:39 am

Couple more offseason trades:

2.07 (ended up Tre'Quan Smith), 3.01 (ended up C. Edmonds)
for
2019 2nd, 2019 3rd

2019 2nd (early), 2019 2nd (mid), 2019 2nd (late), 2019 3rd (early), 2019 3rd (mid), 2019 3rd (late),
for
3.11 (ended up J. Wilkins), 2019 1st (mid-late)

3.11 (ended up J. Wiklins)
for
2019 3rd (mid-late)

My thinking was that the guys projected to be 19 overall (2.07) was in the range that I didn't want (H. Hurst, J. Washington, M. Andrews, Ballage). I had a clear top 18 and tried to trade up with no success. I then turned my attention to trade out of 2.07 and 3.01 for future picks.

I turned around with my 2019 2nd and 3rd and (2) 2019 2nd and 3rd round picks I traded for earlier to get a 2019 1st (mid-late) and 3.11. Which I then traded for a future 3rd.
