This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I am a big fan of Boyd. He is actually my WR3 in this class after Treadwell and Doctson. He is a smooth operator with excellent hands and can control the middle of the field. Think Keenan Allen when you watch him this year. Can make a nice living as a high floor reliable WR2 in the NFL with AJG on the other side.

His detractors will point to his lack of straight line speed, but that was never his game. He is fast enough and runs clean routes. Probably never going to be a WR1, but the position is so crowded that WR1 is only for the elite of the elite. Nothing wrong with being a reliable WR2.

I like him a lot as well. I think he's in a nice spot to be consistently productive. I took him at 1.09 over Fuller and caught some grief but I just think he's more skilled and has a higher upside. No regrets here.

He's not Keenan Allen, not even close IMO
Boyd will be a better NFL WR than he will be a fantasy WR
He never has separation, ever. Whenever he would get some on film, by the time the ball was thrown and arrived to him the DB was all over him contesting it.
Yes he made some impressive catches in college while being contested.
Expect the windows to be even smaller to get the ball to Boyd and the DBs to be even more all over him in the NFL.
Couple that with no WR other than AJG has been worth a hoot in quite some time, I'll gladly pass while Dalton throws to AJG, Eifert, and Gio all season long

That has more to do with his QBs being late on the throws or having weak arms than Boyd being slow. He plays faster than he times. But you have seemingly been a hater for awhile on him.

I wasn't saying that the QBs were not good. I was saying that even when the ball was thrown with the correct anticipation, by the time the ball had arrived the DBs were all over him
It was consistent in literally every tape I watched
Boyd's combine numbers confirmed what I suspected when I watched the film
He's not overtly fast, not overtly quick, he will be a good NFL player. Honestly he's a younger Sanu. Can contribute in more ways than just a WR (rb, reverses, special teams) but he won't ever be a top 20 FF WR IMO

I think he's got a chance to be the best WR in this class. He should have a good rookie year since after AJ, there's not much there.

We get it...you don't like Boyd lol.

On a side note, the Bengals completed 334 passes last season. 52 of them went to Eifert and 39 of them went to Gio. Another 86 of them went to AJG. That leaves 147 catches up for grabs. Sure Hill will get a couple of those, Eifert (if he plays a full season) may get a few more than he did, and a few other guys will grab some, but there is a lot of meat left on that bone.

Eifert had 615 yards last year...615!! He made his bones in the red zone and that is great for him, but let's not pretend he is some dominant force between the 20's.

Eifert has also had problems staying healthy so he has to stay healthy as well. I think he was talking about "not much there" in respect to WRs, not all pass catchers. But still there will be enough targets for Boyd and given his hands he will make the most out of his targets if he doesn't get a lot.

I like Eifert and he is definitely a threat, as are AJG and Gio, but Boyd will get his chances and be on the field a lot since there is nobody on that roster that can challenge him for the WR2 role.
