Needing a RB. Offer for Landry.

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Give up Landry for this?

Needing a RB. Offer for Landry.

Postby Lesman » Fri Oct 19, 2018 9:40 pm

See poll. I'd be giving up Landry. I am not a huge fan of Collins long term future, but I am in dire need for RB depth, especially for this week. Is this doable?

I wouldn't do that deal.

Landry is the most talented player out of the 5 in that trade, and he could be locked in with a good franchise QB if Baker continues to develop. You got some good WR depth and some intriguing young pieces, but you also have Cooper who's a massive question mark until he's back to proving us otherwise. TY is on his way to 29, MVS and DJ Moore are raw rookies.

Dixon is honestly worthless in my eyes. Washington is talented but I can't see him contributing anytime soon. Collins is a solid RB, but the Baltimore usage rate for him isn't comforting, even with the week 6 19 carries being a season high. Sure, Landry's value takes a decent hit in standard, but Collins has yet to crack even 70 rushing yards in a game and has a 2TD-skewed 17 point effort as his season high up to this point. In standard so far he has 5/8/12/8/5/17.

I understand Pitt being on a bye complicates things, but I'd rather trade away one of your younger WR's like MVS or DJ Moore than give up Landry with hopes of Collins getting you 17 if you're lucky, and 5 if it's a bad week. Or if you're adamant on trading away Landry shoot for another RB to target. Chubb?

Ya, I'm not big on Collins, nor am I confident in his role past this year. I love Washington's talent, Ben will probably be retired before he gets a chance to develop into a major contributor.

I have been shopping one of Landry/TY/Cooper for a RB since mid summer, and this is really the best offer I have received so far. I've made offers for guys like Chubb & Kerryon with no avail. I'll probably just take my lumps this week, with a waiver wire dart throw like a Juszczyk, rather than make a bad move.

Don't do it. You're trying to fix a leak with duct tape on this deal. If you're needing a rb, Alex Collins is surely not the one that would win you anything substantial. Think long term my friend and don't overvalue Collins because of his draft position, he has been decent at best and buck Allen is right on his heels. Landry hasn't hit stride yet and if he does soon, (or even this week) then you may be able to sell higher to a wr needy team. *Usually wr needy teams have rbs and rb needy teams have wr so wait to cash in on landry
