Thielen or 1.05?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Thielen or 1.05?

Postby doug040 » Fri May 25, 2018 10:07 am

RB needy team. 1QB league. Thielen would still be a full-time starter. Thielen or 1.05?

I'd prob rather have 1.05 but it would depend on who is left on the board, and my roster breakdown. Pretty fair trade imo.

if you are getting 1.05 for Thielen, then take it
if you are getting Thielen, try to get a late 2nd early 3rd (even if 2019)..i would value him over DJ Moore, probably below the RBs
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris

I traded 1.2 and 2.9 for Thielen, Mack, and 2.3.

The traded Thielen for Parker and 1.11 Gallup.

Theilen is a good player to trade. My take is his upside is around 85 catches so on value I would take 1.5 but would want a bit more like a 2nd. A lot of owners value him quite a bit. He is a polarizing player.

I ultimately turned 1.2 & 2.9 into Parker, Gallup, Mack and Gesicki and Theilen was a big part of that transaction. He has poker player value but I think he is a sell type due to situation.

interesting you put names on your picks, who were the players taken at 1.02 and 2.09?
i think i would rather 1.02/2.09...
Parker has been a hyped up each year and then disappoints
Gallup... i own him in one league, so i am not going to jinx anything
mack...not sure if he can handle the load, or if he has that job next season
Gesicki...see Gallup above

Wish Thielen got a few more tds, would make this an easy choice lol but I’d say even in 1 ppr, any other format I’d rather the 1.5.

Penny went 1.2 (who I would have picked) Hayden Hurst 2.9

Didn't really need a RB but needed to get younger at WR and TE.

I am high on Gallup and Gesicki both of who I rated number 1 at their position in this draft well before the NFL draft and both went to good situations. Mack is a sleeper pick for me. Like his size and burst. He could finish top 12 this year in fantasy. Not much competition.

I get Parker has been an accident looking to happen since drafted but his upside is really high. Needs to stay healthy for sure. I am well aware of Parker's history.

The RB's are a bit overvalued this year IMO. Like a lot of them but after 1.1 the entire first round of this draft could flip as the talent is really close. Its only a $75 league so don't mind risk but each player I acquired has significant upside.

i actually liken the RBs to last year's crop...i think all will be valuable and starters...difficult to predict which will be the Kamara of the group...
i don't think that is overvalued at all though...i just think it is difficult who will be most valued next season..

I’m in the minority here but give me the 8th overall ppr WR last year. If I needed the RB more or if I was deep enough at WR were Theilen wasn’t a starter I couldn’t fault anyone for wanting the 1.5 more. That said, if he’s my starter, I rather start him this year over Chubb, RoJo, Michel.
Team 1
12 Teams - .5 pt. PPR
QB: Newton, A. Dalton, Foles
RB: Connor, Fournette, Freeman , McCoy, G. Edwards, Clement, C. Warren
WR: A. Brown, K. Allen, Hilton, Crabtree, R. Foster, M. Harris, C. Patterson, C. Conley
TE: Kelce , C. Herndon, D. Walker

Team 2
16 Teams - PPR
QB: Ryan, Roethlisberger, Foles
RB: Connor, Bell , Lindsay, McCoy, Lynch, Smallwood, P. Barber, I. Smith, Bibbs
WR: Thielen, Juju, D. Adams, Jeffrey, S. Roberts, T. Sharpe, A. Callaway, M. Harris
TE: Ebron, Cook, Eifert, Dickson

Team 3
12 Teams - TE Premium PPR (limited roster 16/20)
QB: Rogers
RB: J. Howard, Chubb, C. Thompson, RoJo, P. Barber
WR: Hilton, Edelman, R. Anderson M. Gallup, C. Kirk, J. Crowder, M. Harris
TE: Njoku

Team 4
12 Team - PPR (1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 3Flex)
QB: Watson,
RB: Zeke, Guice, Michel, P. Barber, Ballage, C.J. Anderson
WR: Hopkins, Golladay, Fitzy, Z. Jones, T. Benjamin, C. Coleman, C. Conley, B. Perriman, S. Roberts

Not overvalued if you pick the right one! There are a few 2 down backs going pretty high IMO. Kind of my point. The difference from 1.2 thru 2.3 are the tightest I have seen in years in fantasy.
