It's actually less valuable than 1.12, since 1.12 is guaranteed to give you a return (i.e., the player that you draft), but Kirk might give you nothing if you cut him.

But, your point being that a third-round pick is more akin in value to a late-first rookie pick than a third is well noted.

I'd make the trade. Kirk is, as you noted, a bubble keeper and unlikely a difference-maker.

I'd take the third, to me you have 5 locked in keepers, lindsay, LF, Adams, TY, and Ertz. So that places him as one of about five guys to keep in that last spot with cole, davis, ito, kirk, etc. so your not just getting the third rounder for him, your getting the third rounder AND one of those guys

I'm just a bit confused about what you meant by "It's actually less valuable than 1.12."
Do you mean holding onto Kirk is less valuable than the 1.12?

Side note: these are the types of intricacies that make this type of league difficult to navigate. It's not a redraft, but not a dynasty either. So valuing players vs. picks is really difficult. Any advice?
You had written that a third-round pick in this league is like the 1.12 in a regular rookie draft. My response was to that comparison, not the value of 1.12 in a dynasty league to Kirk.

As for advice, I think that you're looking at things the right way. Non-elite rookies in this format get incredibly devalued -- not worth hanging onto them just in case they eventually break out when you can have players who have broken out in their stead each year.

Put another way: think of this as a seven-round draft going into each year. Would you rather have 4 picks in the top 2 round and 3 in the seventh or would you rather have one in each round? Then construct/trade for your team accordingly. Final piece of advice: I wouldn't stress too much about that sixth or seventh keeper. Odds are that a couple of teams will have too many keeper-worthy players, and you can acquire one for relatively cheap in the off-season. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that you could get a keeper-worthy player in the off-season that is far more valuable than Kirk :).
