Keeper League, Choose 1

Postby lucianor85 » Tue Jul 17, 2018 5:14 am

Hello everyone,

QB 2RB 3WR TE, 1/2PPR, 12 Team League. 4 Keepers from last season.

Already decided on 3: Kamara, Hunt, Michael Thomas. Should choose 1 more among:

Russel Wilson (4th round pick)
Fitz (3rd round Pick)
Funchess (9th round pick)
Wentz (14th round pick)

I have all my picks until 6th round.

Pretty much anyone who is not a rookie is kept until ADP36 (maybe Travis Kelce, Mckinnon, ARod slip there, but I would not count on it). I'll have the 2nd or 3rd pick of the first round, so Saquon will be probably gone. After that I'll have someone close to Fitz (he's at 31 - WR14 on my draft rankings).

Right now I'm between the value gained with keeeping Wentz and using my first pick on Fitz himself, or keeping Fitz and getting a player with an ADP close to him with my first pick.

Any thoughts?

By value, Wentz is a no-brainer.

Is this a league where you can keep a player for multiple seasons at, say, a couple of round increase? If so, then Wentz is even more valuable.

Easily Wentz only because of the big gap in rounds from Wilson. Fitz is a relatively distant 3rd and Funchess so far off the map I'm not sure how far down in the draft I'd consider him a keeper....maybe the last round but even then not with these other options available.

Exactly. Player loses 2rd from the previous year draft. If FA, then considered a 10th round next year. The league has IDPs, so I had Wentz as a late round QB2 filler.

Thanks for the input!

Had Funchess there to better illustrate the situation.

So, comparing ADPs / names to picks (all these assumptions are accordingly to my simulations of what players will be keepers - they will be defined closer to the draft):

Situation 01
Keep Wentz
Use first pick (1.11) with some player between ADP31-35 (Fitz would be among these)
Use second pick (2.02) with someone ADP35-38 - 1.12 and 2.01 will be keeping Zeke and Hopkins
Use third pick (3.11) with someone ADP47-55
Use fouth pick (4.02) with someone ADP50-58

Situation 02
Keep Fitz
Use first pick (1.11) with some player between ADP33-37
Use second pick (2.02) with someone ADP35-39
Use third pick (3.11) with Fitz
Use fouth pick (4.02) with someone ADP50-58

I agree with you guys. The benefits of keeping Wentz are greater than the value between Situation 1 and 2 (I see as a ADP33 - ADP50 value).

I'll use a late round draft pick with some QB with easy early schedule, just in case Wentz is rusty after his return.

Thanks guys.
