Keeper Advice

Postby eaglesforthewin » Thu Jul 05, 2018 4:08 am

I will start out with this is my NON-dynasty league. (not the roster in the sig). You can only keep a player for 2 years but I figured you guys/gals would still be able to give great insight. We are changing our scoring/roster setups for our 10-year anniversary of the league and I am not as confident in what I want to do. Here are our league settings. We are an 8-team league with deep rosters to make it more challenging. We start:

QB/SuperFlex/Rb/Rb/Rb/WR/WR/WR/WR/TE/TE/Flex/Flex/K/Def

Our scoring is changing to a 0.5 point per carry and 0.5 point per reception. (change from a 1-point per reception).

We can keep players with their round value from last year, we are allowed to keep 2 players. Here are my options:

Lev Bell--1st round
Zeke--1st round
Hunt--7th round
Davante Adams--14th round
Howard--15th round
Dion Lewis--17th round

With our new scoring, Lev and Zeke put up insane numbers. But then I go into the draft without my first and second round pick because I would need to use my 1st and 2nd for Lev/Zeke. I know I would probably have 2 of the top 3 RB's but after round 4, most teams would have 6 players and I would still only have 4, because they are keeping players at a value in rounds 5-17. With the expanded roster would that hurt me? Or, should I keep 1 of Lev/Zeke and keep Hunt/Howard/Lewis for value? Hunt is damn good value in the 7th. Howard would have finished as a top 9 RB the last 2 years with this scoring and would only cost a 15th rounder. Dion was around RB11 and I like Adams but WR value seems diminished in this league. Sorry for the length of the message. Appreciate any feedback,

With the keep 2 format, I suppose you could keep one or both of these top RBs. I would focus on value though. Snagging Howard and Adams in those late rounds provides it. I could see keeping Hunt as well, but adding two top players using late picks seems seems more priceless. You retain your early picks and still have a chance to select Zeke or Bell in the 1st, but if they aren't on the board, you'll be adding another player of 1st round caliber.

I would definitely keep Hunt.

The 2nd is a toss-up for me, probably roll with Bell here.

Bell and Zeke are your two best players, but Hunt in the 7th and Adams in the 14th is awesome value.

This is a very difficult problem. I'm probably going Zeke and Hunt, simply based on value and youth.
