Old school redraft help. 1.1 snake pick

Postby hockeyBjj » Sun Aug 20, 2017 6:37 am

My dad's work league had a guy drop out after 20 years of playing just a couple days before the draft, so I said I'd help out. It's been a while since I did a yearly league that was competitive ($50 for a fantasy league to me is a lot), and the rules are the same as before fantasy football existed on the internet and they would do it all with paper and pencil

1qb, but only 1 point per 30 yards passing and 4pt qb- no int punishment
2 rb
3wr/te- no tight end position, can use one as a receiver
1 D/st
1 K

Non-ppr for all of it

With the 1.1 pick, is it David Johnson or Bell in non-ppr? Is it 100% go rb, and then rb/wr when it finally gets back to me? Fill out 2rb and 3wr as priority 1?What are some TE to receiver equivalences where a TE makes more send that a WR 3 or 4?

If taking DJ pick 1, would it maybe be a good gamble to take a rookie (LF, Cook, Mixon in that order) with the 2.12 or 3.1? And have the safety of Dj at rb1 and a dice roll at rb2 where if he hits I have a chance of winning it all? After having my starting 5, I'm tempted to gamble on rookies to perform above their adp. Or stick with guys who you know will not put up starter numbers as bye week fill in?

How late to take a QB in this format, and if Rodgers/Bree's/Brady somehow fall, how far is a far enough fall to pick them up instead of looking at taking QB 10-15?
Team 1- 10 team ppr, 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flx, 1D, 1K
2022: 1-8

picks-
2024- 1,1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,4,5,5
2025 1,1,1,2,3,4,5

team 2- 12 team SF, .5PPR, .5TE boost, 1QB, 1SF, 2 RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex
2022: 8-1
Finishes: 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd :wall:

Just saw this post so you likely already had your draft.

I'd say DJ is a slam dunk at 1.1
2.12/3.1 I would take the best two WR you can get. The talent pool dries up fast at WR and you need to start 3?
4.12/5.1 I'd look at RB2 and WR3 here. Skip the TE unless you can get Graham/Olson/Reed here
6.12/7.1 I like to go QB1/QB2 on a turn so you likely end up with QB9/QB10 in your rankings as you'll have the best backup in the league.
8.12/9.1 RB3/WR4

Good Luck

is this a 10 or 12 team league

if a 10 team league, i don't think i would draft 2 QBs (unless no waivers)

in a standard league: i would certainly go with RBs and i might start out with 3...it seems that Watkins and ARob have been falling to the 4th round but even if they don't, guys like benjamin, parker, crabtree, fitz should be there...
i would be very happy to start with
1. DJ or Bell
2/3 cook/fournette/crowell/hyde/ty mont pick 2
4/5 arob/watkins/benjamin/parker/crabtree/fitz pick 2

and these are options in a 12 team league...it gets better in a 10 team league..

good luck (unless i am too late)
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris
