Jordan Howard or Davante Adams

Postby Smigs630 » Sun Jul 16, 2017 6:01 am

12 team PPR league.. Start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 TE , 1 Flex ( rb,wr,te)
Need to pick only one between Jordan Howard or Davante Adams ? Would cost me a 16th round pick. (Last round of draft)

Both went undrafted last year and I picked them both up. It would cost me a 16th Round pick to keep either one. Howards ADP is 2nd round from what I am seeing and Adams is 4/5th round. Value is for Howard but just worried about the Bears not being very good limiting Howard with stacked boxes and abandoning the run later in games due to them being down in games. Adams had 12 TDs last year which I see hard to repeat and had 75 receptions which I can see him get again this year.

Thanks for your help just not sure who's the better keeper for the year!

Howard

Simply put, you can draft Adams at a later round than you could get Howard.
From what I understand, Howard was running against stacked boxes for the most part. Cutler was out and they basically rode the rookie RB the second half of the year. He still put up 1300+ yds in 13 games starting. I didn't watch all the games, but he was impressive in every game I did.

I was looking for stats to show how Howard did against stacked boxes and was surprised that he didn't have good numbers against 8 or 9 man boxes. https://www.fanragsports.com/nfl/cowboy ... boxes-nfl/

Bell didn't do great against 8 and 9 man boxes either, so obviously there are other factors at play here. For my money, I'd still bet on Howard. 8-)

I'm far lower on Howard than most, and I was desperately looking for a convincing reason to pick Adams. But, Howard's ADP, as noted above, is far higher than Adams's, so the value lies there.

Add in the fact that your league only starts 2WR, and it's a slam dunk.

That being said, you might be able to get quite a haul of picks in return for Howard. If you, like me, are lower on Howard than most, then that would be my recommendation.
