Which 8 to keep?

Postby cmizelle » Fri May 26, 2017 11:48 am

PPR, only funky scoring is return yards: 20 yds / point
Start: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, R/W Flex, TE

Which 8 to keep?

Cam Newton ( CAR, QB )
Matt Ryan ( ATL, QB )
Isaiah Crowell ( CLE, RB )
Devonta Freeman ( ATL, RB )
Keenan Allen ( LAC, WR )
A.J. Green ( CIN, WR )
Tyreek Hill ( KCC, WR )
DeAndre Hopkins ( HOU, WR )
Julio Jones ( ATL, WR )
Jarvis Landry ( MIA, WR )
Jordan Reed ( WAS, TE )

Tough one!!

I'd keep:
RB: Crowell, Freeman
WR: Allen, Green, Hopkins, Jones, and Landry
TE: Reed

I love Cam, but I think that you'll be able to draft a QB of similar production. If you love Cam, then you'd have to drop a WR, and that's where it gets tough: Hill has the bonus of the return yards, but I'm wary of keeping someone exclusively for that. That being said, I'm lower on Landry than most, so I could comfortably swap him out for Hill (or Cam if you really want).

The other seven, though, are pretty clear keepers to me.

Yeah, I'm thinking along those lines too. Hill is the one I'm torn on the most. He had almost 1000 return yds last year (thats 50 pts in this format) and ended up the #6 WR last year.

I'd definitely be dropping a QB in a 12 team play one league, and Hill would be the other definite drop for me. Landry and Crowell would be on the bubble for me I'd lean dropping Landry with your roster.

QB is the easiest thing to replace. Plus you could very well replace them with the exact players you dropped if you feel strongly enough to pick them with one of your first picks.

Reed is great but you'll need to constantly have a starter level TE to back him up 'just in case' his concussion symptoms and the impossible to predict timetable for return become an issue... AGAIN. Might as well just draft that other TE you had in mind and keep Landry AND Hill.

Trade one of your QB's to a needy team, Crowell, and/or Reed for a nice RB upgrade. Draft a rookie TE.
