Very strong possibility. Maybe Manning gets signed now?

I like that this seems to pave the way for Wallace to NE.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of others in the running for NE, such as Brandon Lloyd, Robert Meachem, etc.

Of course. But...1 down.

Maybe the niners brought Moss in for Kaepernick, not Smith? You never know!

Niners and Smith are extending for 3 years. So it looks like Alex Smith for another season unless he reverts (again) and Harbaugh wants to give Kaepernick, or whoever they bring in, a shot.

edit, fixed Smith's name

Steve Smith doesn't have the prototypical size to play QB.

You guys know how this will end...Gore, VDavis all expect to get the ball on a regular basis and Alex Smith is managed 'tightly' by this coaching staff! Moss is not going to happy if he isn't getting 4-6 throws per game...
If the addition of Moss is expected to open things up, it may do that but I just don't see Smith being able to deliver on anything more than intermediate routes! I know some will mention how he did in the Saints playoff game...well, if that's what Smith can do on a more consistent basis, then I'll have more faith!
The bottom line is that Moss is here on a 1 year deal and if he starts the moping, pouting...he's gone from the NFL for good! Harbaugh is a tough, ornery coach who I expect to get the most out of Moss - that's what gives me some hope!
