At least he's on a roster so I can throw him on IR in the plethora of leagues that I have him.

He's actually on waivers in one of my leagues. He'd make an interesting get as depth.

Curious what kind of pick value people assign to him. 3.1 in a 12 teamer, maybe?
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K
1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

Oof.
A late 3rd or a 4th? Maybe?

I wouldn't spend much of anything on him.

He is worth a hold if you got it. Worth a sell if you good a good offer. I wouldn't be a buyer, but I am holding him in a league.

I just traded him for a 2020 2nd in a 10 team league but I don't think that's typical.

I would still sell for any 3rd.

Late camp cut in my opinion. McDaniel’s is probably doing him a favor to showcase that he’s progressing well from the injury so other teams get some interest in him before the season starts
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, DK, G Wilson, Palmer
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.10
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

People said Adrian Peterson was done. They said the same about Steve Smith (Achilles & 5 years older). Jimmy Graham. I am not saying DT is not done - just that I do not believe the odds are 100%. The Patriots would not sign him if they did not feel there was at least a chance he could return and be viable - this is (not to me at least) a signing to get a players notes on their previous playbook. Of course he may still be done from a fantasy perspective. Just saying elite players should get the benefit of the doubt so long as they show they are committed to returning.

The contract details (when they come out) will be revealing.

High guarantee? Then move DT up quite a bit.

Low salary and mostly incentive-based? Then they're bringing him in for an August look and are as likely to cut him in the pre-season as anything else.

The guy is trying to recover from his second Achilles injury at 31 years old ... I’d be shock if he makes the final 53. Of course, he’s on the Patriots so he’ll probably end up in the Pro Bowl.

AP didn't have two grade 3 Achilles tears to the same leg (and he -- freakishly -- recovered from his ACL tear when he was still in the prime of his 20s). Graham had a patella tear, not Achilles (still bad... different, though).

SSS is a 5'9" super human with incredible mental strength and willpower. He was a little dog in a big dog league so he made up for it by having more fight in him than anyone else.
Just saying elite players should get the benefit of the doubt
Which highlights another point: DT hasn't been truly elite in years.

That said, I hear what you're saying. You're right -- it's not 100% certain that DT is done, and this signing lends weight to that.

Well I am not saying people should rush out and buy him - just saying I feel it is way to early to write him off 100%. Owners are certainly free to do so if they wish. And we'll have to disagree on his being elite and thats alright as well. :) But an (almost) 1000 yard season when you are 30 and your QBs are Brock Osweiler & Trevor Seiman does not scream JAG to me.
