And maybe the qb who was even more efficient in college than Wilson (Mayfield).

Fully agree with the praise being lauded on Wilson. Dude's an elite QB in a league where that matters more than anything else.

12-team SF, PPR, TE premium, 0.25 PPCarry
1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 1SF 4Flex
QB: Mahomes, Fields, Love
RB: Bijan, ETN, Pollard, Achane, Herbert
WR: Kupp, Hill, Metcalf, Ridley, Jeudy, D.J. M, Burks, Hollywood, Wan'Dale
TE: Kyle Pitts, Goedert

I like Mayfield a ton, but I'm not sure he or Mahomes would be able to step into a bad team with a bad oline and improve them dramatically at this early stage in their careers. I have no doubt either will be able to do it in 3-4 years.

Hope they spend the rest of their cap space on O-line to protect him. He has been extremely durable but those sacks will start to take a toll on him if he keeps taking 40+ sacks a year.

I am actually shocked they reached a deal by the deadline.

But yeah - invest in an o line now as many have said.

$65m signing bonus, total guarantees are $107m and a no trade clause.
Russ got paaaaid.

He’s the highest paid right now. He won’t be by next year.

Glad the two sides came to an agreement and I hope it works out for both Wilson & the Seahawks. Guess we shall learn the full details of the deal as they emerge.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

A clinic in contract negotiation by team Wilson. The kicker is he'll only be 34'ish at the end of this one. Just in time for one last giant bite at the apple.

I'm pretty sure never, but that doesn't really tell the full story. I believe the stat that is most-telling (or most cherry-picked, depending on how you feel about it) is that no team has ever won the SB when giving their QB more than 13% of their cap. I believe Wilson's $35M would be 18.6% of the cap.

Having said that, call me crazy in the face of those numbers but I still think he's one of those few players that are so good that he's worth every penny. But, he's really only worth the money IF (and it's a big IF) the Seahawks actually let him f***ing throw the ball more. Here's the passing play %'s for each team last year:

01) 67.5% - GB
02) 67.4% - PIT
03) 65.2% - ATL
04) 64.4% - MIN
05) 64.0% - NYG
06) 63.1% - TB
07) 61.9% - IND
08) 61.7% - CIN
09) 61.6% - PHI
10) 61.3% - DEN
11) 61.1% - KC
12) 61.1% - OAK
13) 60.6% - ARI
14) 60.4% - DET
15) 59.8% - CLE
16) 58.9% - CAR
17) 58.6% - JAC
18) 57.8% - SF
19) 57.8% - LAC
20) 57.8% - NYJ
21) 57.7% - MIA
22) 57.2% - WAS
23) 57.0% - DAL
24) 56.7% - LAR
25) 55.5% - NE
26) 54.6% - HOU
27) 53.8% - CHI
28) 53.6% - BUF
29) 53.4% - NO
30) 51.8% - BAL
31) 51.6% - TEN
32) 47.2% - SEA :wall: :wall: :wall:

How you gonna make him the highest-paid QB of all-time just to have him lead the league in handing the ball off? Seahawks better let Russ take more command of that offense.

It is easy to point to the highest paid player as a "problem"; but seeing as there is 1 highest paid player in the league and 32 teams, I do not think it paints the entire picture.

Sure, tying up a lot of money on one position can be detrimental - but if any position warrants it, it is the quarterback position. There is a reason they command so much on the market.

All it takes is for a team to have a pretty successful couple years of drafting to surround Wilson with the pieces he needs to win them a Super Bowl.

Selecting a redundant RB asset in the 1st round was not a good start for this "successful couple years of drafting"

Oh - agreed.
Neither is having only four picks in the 2019 draft.
