Marquise Goodwin value 2019+

Postby DrDynasty » Wed Mar 20, 2019 10:41 pm

I haven’t heard much on Marquise Goodwin in a long time. Will he ever be starter worthy (solid 12 points a game)? Is he droppable? Is D. Pettis the 1 now?

Curious how you won with both Gurley and Conner out for the playoffs in FF. Who did you start at RB with that team?

He had a bit of a lost season and also had some family issues (death of a child I believe). He's also older than you might think (28).

I'd sell for a mid-2nd and buy for a 3rd.
1. 12 team 1pt PPR. Start 1 QB, 2-3 RB, 3-4 WR, 1-2 TE. Yr 7
QB: Murray, Stafford
RB: Dobbins, Sanders, Pearce
WR: Jefferson, Burks, JuJu
TE: Goedert, Everett
2023: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

2. 12 team 1pt PPR. Start 1 QB, 2-4 RB, 3-5 WR, 1-3 TE. Yr 6.
QB: Jackson, Allen
RB: Akers, CEH
WR: Chase, M Brown, Pittman, M Williams
TE: Tonyan, Hooper
2023: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

3. 12 team superflex, PPR (WR/RB/TE 1/1.25/1.5). Start 1-2 QB, 1-7 RB, WR, TE. Yr 5.
QB: Jackson, Prescott, Brady
RB: Singletary, Harris
WR: Jefferson, Adams, Burks, Evans, Lockett
TE: Hockenson
2023: 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

Goodwin is maybe a 2nd or third. BTW, this belongs in the Team advice forum. I can't believe you won the title with those RB's, in an 8 team league, with your top guys all out. 4 of them. Gurley, MckKinnon, Conner AND Hunt! How did you pull it off?

He has Samuels, so that was one productive RB. The rest of his team is solid so Im not that surprised. I won with guys like Samuels starting for me pretty much all year lol

Fellow Goodwin owner here. This is a make or break year for him as far as fantasy value. Assuming health, he could benefit greatly from the return of Garoppolo, who loved to target him in late 2017. He could also benefit from attention increasing on Pettis. There doesn't seem to be a ton of threat from the rest of the roster, but the draft could change that of course.
My guess is that he has a solid year: 900 yards and 5 TDs.

I think Goodwin could have some bounce-back potential, because Jimmy G clearly had some rapport with him with the tape I watched -- in fact, I'd see Jimmy ignore other open receivers to target Goodwin.

Correct. I rode Gurley and Conner to the playoffs and survived with Samuels and Ingram to win. It helps when Rodgers scores 46 in week 16. Also, I bought low and aquired Hunt after he was released. And I’ll just hold onto Goodwin for now and hope his rapport with Jimmy creates a fantasy asset.

Yeah, Rodgers sure helped that week. I got Derrick Henried in week 14, so it can get funny in the playoffs.

i look at Goodwin as a bounce back candidate... I might look to buy if I could get him on the cheap
